Fair point, not looking forward to going from sky to virgin box but I'm sure I'll get used to it

That's the only downside to Virgin, they haven't got the TiVo box right yet, it is slow and clunky, but it's a small price to pay for consistent BB and excellent service.

I'm curious what VM service are you only paying ~£11.63 for? ;)

£11.99 actually, but close enough ;)

50mb and weekend calls, I have the following discounts:

£9 loyalty credit
£7.50 loyalty credit
£6 SamKnows panelist credit

Spoke to them about the price increase, and they said they can knock it down to £0.50 a month instead of the full amount :)

What's the panel list about?

I basically have a performance monitoring router connected to my Superhub, which provides stats about my connection - I have a dashboard where I can view them, but (I'm assuming) it's also so they can validate their claims about speed/reliability etc.

I've been on there for about 2 years now, and they've provided various incentives, e.g. prize draw for Amazon vouchers, free Netflix for 6 months, the current one is a discount on your bill, but it could change to something else in ~4 months.

I think they periodically send out emails to customers inviting them to sign up.

How is VM these days? I've been on BT Infinity for the last few years, I had VM before 50mb I think, speed was mostly OK at the time, throttling was annoying and latency was poor at peak times, these days though I don't game, I do download a lot but it seems that they no longer traffic shape.

Is there anyway I can check how subscribed my area is or not?

I currently have BT Infinity getting pretty much 80mb paying £30 and have phone line rental saver which is about to end. I also have BT sport, the only thing I will miss is the MotoGP, anyone know another way I can watch this?

VM don't seem to have any offers on £43.25 with no phoneline, would save me a little as I don't use the landline.

Edit - Another thing I'll miss is BT wifi hotspots, I travel a lot for work and these can come in quite handy at times.

Been with Virgin 2 year now. Initially had a 12 month contract so well out of it.

What can I realistically get my price down to for 100mb internet and M phone? It's currently £40.33 roughly which I think is too expensive and this is before the price increase.

Cheers

18 months ago I went from 40/10 with Plusnet to VM 150. I was promised that I was in a non oversubscribed area, however I regretted making the move. Gaming, YouTube, Netflix etc was all slower than the Plusnet connection. Speedtest's showed fine though.
