Be careful with BT m8 they lie as well when I checked and phoned them they like yeah yeah u get the the max (can't remember now speed at time) when I got BT I was only getting 4mb download maximum they then said there due to upgrade the road lol year on didn't happen bb BT hello virgin
paying 48 quid a month soon for 50 mb basic tv and unlimited phone
They do, that's how I got my current deal, cancelled because sky gave me a great offer, 2 days later virgin phone and beat it

Probably true for the present but they will be thinking long term and DOCSIS 3.1 where things will improve significantly. It's likely that we'll see 1gbps down + 100mbps up from Virgin before BT, Sky etc offer higher than 80/20 outside of small pockets.

I am currently a "VIVID 150 Optical Fibre" customer. I am using the super hub 2 provided by Virgin.
Some information about what I am getting right now:
-150Mbps in a wired connection
-Around 110Mbps right next to the router (wireless 5Ghz)
-Between 90Mbps and 50Mbps at the living room (about 10m) depending on the number of walls on the way and if it is peak time or not (wireless 5Ghz)
-Around 40Mbps on my Nvidia Shield TV located on the living room (wireless 2.4 Ghz) (for some reason, my Shield never find the 5Ghz signal Smiley Sad )
-Sometimes I lost the signal in the living room.
As you can see, my bigger problems is the connection of my new Shield TV, which I would like to be able to use to stream movies from my laptop (wired connected to the router), but right now it isn´t looks possible.
We are 3-4 people living and using mobile devices as smartphones, tablets and/or laptops.Usually we don´t make a heavy use of the connection, just some eventually download or more frequently, I play online some heavy game.
After all this information... I would like to get answer to these 2 simple questions:
-Would you recommend me to buy my own neutral router to connect it to the superhub2 (on modem mode)?
-If you answered yes to the previous question, ¿which of these 2 routers would you recommend me?

Asus RT-AC87U, i have one and it's a great router.....
P.S i suggest removing the links to the retailer..
SH3 has been in some area's for a while now with VoIP sockets and suggestion is it's 3.1 compatible. That said VM have always been tight when it comes to upload, based on the existing 200mbit package 1000/60 seems more likely.
VDSL is just a stepping stone on the path to FTTH, once that happens it'll be a game changer for a lot of things, VM's asset was it's fast network, once FTTH happens it looses that advantage. POTS will be replaced by VoIP (finally!) and IPTV will come of age.
How long are we talking before FTTH though? >1-2 years?
3.1 isn't just faster 3.0 though. Getting back to 10:1 ratio is very likely when it's finally implemented.
Country wide? Try 10+ years, it's not going to be any time soon anyway.
Folks, I just had the upgrade from 100 to 150, but Im still seeing around 100mbits still on speedtest, called Virgin who said that I should be on 150 and does take up to 24 hours to "settle".
Any thoughts on this? Your experiences of such speed boosts and the time it has taken to kick in?

Which superhub do you have?
Is it in modem mode or router mode?
Are you connected directly to the router using a cable or is it wireless?
Do you have gigabit ports on your router/computer/any switches you may have?
Its the 2 which they sent me today.
Connected directly into the router from PC (Gigabit Ethernet). (So router mode).
