Virgin Media Discussion Thread

Just had an VM engineer, according to him SH 3.0 is crap... He came to see what's wrong with my SH1.0 as it didn't boot, it had 2 blue LED's.

Is anyone on here BB only 200mb package? If so, how much is it p/m?

I'm paying £24 for 200mb and the standard phone line. £144 up front for line rental means effective £36 a month after whatever loyalty discount they throw on top

been offered 30quid a month for 100meg or 38 for 200, decent?

Again, not hit retentions yet, just enquiring. im half tempted to call and cancel to get that ball rolling, but im in rented property and just keeping virgin is much less hassle than having to ask if i can install whoever else. And i'm stuggling to find any other provider that can match that price.

Does anyone on these forums work for Virgin?

I have been told there is a Congestion issue in my area , I have been provided with a Fault Ref and a "Estimated Fix" date of 30/3 and was wondering if there's been any process since it was first raised - I was told the fault ref was first raised in January 2016

another update 'cus I know you are all interested...

phoned through to retentions, best they could offer was 42.99 a month on 100meg, tv and phone. which is £515 for the year...

new customer can get big bang (same deal) with a £100 credit (best option out of 3: a speaker, or £100 amazon voucher) on the account so works out at £422.

So my partner will be "moving in" towards the end of this 30day notice and taking over a new customer agreement later tonight. Doing it through quidco is another £70, and I wonder if I can call up afterwards and add a friend referral for another £50 off.

Fun times!

Just had a letter through the door say they are finally reducing the £5 handling charge when you don't pay by direct debit. They're dropping it down to 45p.

Can you someone please shed some light to why when using SABnzbd/torrents my virgin internet drops out until I reboot the modem? Has anyone seen this before?

I have tried multiple ports in SABnzbd, SSL on/off etc

I have an Asus RT-AC68U as the rouuter, with the SuperHub2 ac working as the modem.

Does anyone have any experience of being miss-sold services with virgin? if so how did you get on? and how did you go about it?

Yes. I've been mis sold my current contract. They are absolutely clueless and have no internal mechanism to fix the problem.

My Big Kahuna contract ended several months ago I called to get broadband and phone only.

What happened was:
I accepted a contract of £36 per month over the phone.
When the contract came in the post it actually said £45 per month.
I called them up and the guy said he can get me the same package for £30 per month instead. I accepted again.
This time they didn't even bother sending a contract in the post because they knew I'd notice the discrepancy, and they've been charging me £48 per month.

I've just realised there is no point stressing about Virgin Media. The UK's CATV network has potential, unfortunately it's just run by clinically retarded people.

Just like the time that retarded woman on the phone refused to give me a new modem because she was jealous my mum had 802.11n WiFi.

Jesus, I'm getting shafted then! I'm paying £49 for 150MB and the standard phone line.
