Yeah that was the trial. After that they brought it out for business customers only but now they've made it available as an addon for home users too but with 20mb upload instead of 15 and zero traffic management.

There are also hints on cableforum that they're returning the upload ratio back to 10:1 again sometime soon.
 
I'll be visiting one of the branches tomorrow as I didn't trust the person on the phone as they gave me 3 different monthly prices. I hate dealing with overseas call centre's, there just pi$$ poor for service.

I currently have the 100mb broadband and phone package L, but I'm looking to kick my full Sky multi room package to touch and get my TV via Virgin, but again with the multi room yet having to get the new boxes to replace my old silver NTL box.

You're going to be disappointed if you think going into a store is going to get you a better deal on your BB, TV etc. It won't.

You need to call retentions not customer services, retentions are the ones that will get you a better deal if they can and are UK based. Select whatever the options are on the phone these days to get to the thinking of leaving us bit to get through to them.
 
Anyone else in Manchester getting shocking speeds at the moment? I have 152 Mbps, barely getting 20 Mbps Down. I cant even talk to my friends over the internet, my packet loss is horrid - I just end up sounding like a possessed Dalek.

I phoned up and all they said it was peak hours but this is happening from around 11:00 on wards, tried to explain this to the chap on the phone but he couldn't understand/wanted to get me off as soon as possible. I understand that peak times can be bad but surely not this bad...

Just to add, I'm on a wired connection.

Vote with your wallet and leave. They were awful when i was in uni.
 
VM throttling via IP now, can't get beyond 3MB/s to feral hosting at any time of day or night, even after a slot switch which helped briefly :mad:

Sick and tired of this bs.

Have you tried an FTP client that does proper segmented downloading? Such as CuteFTP. I can easily max my connection using it and downloading from Feral.

Yes, I use lftp (using ftp and sftp) with anywhere from 10 to 50 segments, no difference, I used to get flat out but not any more, spoke to feral who told me that VM have done it before and gave me a new slot which was alright for a day or 2.
 
Manchester here - No issues speed wise

However tried to DL something from Mediafire last night - 2 day guestimate based on 110mb dl! Switched to the mirror dl and was done in seconds, so possiable something wrong at media fire end I think?
