Yeah, screw you guys! :(

Currently in the process of cancelling my services with VM and going to go with a 16 - 21Mbps FTTC. Would rather have a stable connection at the time I want/need to use it.

Was going to go Sky, but I hardly watch TV - only use kids programs for my daughter. So just thinking going BT.

Why? You wanted phone+ 200mb and are paying more than the normal price for them. £53 is the normal price, the price after new customer discounts end and you are paying £56.

Im not going to argue for the sake of £3 really,What id like to know is what is this "Tivo montly fee" & "Player TV (M) thats listed on my bill?

As far as im aware,my 1 tivo is now only a free view box reviving nothing from VM..i checked on the tivo and all the channels i use to have are now greyed out so they have shut it off, only receiving the normal channels you get on regular TV.

They said i can keep the tivo and use it as a freeview box,The other Tivo they want back though and are sending me a box to send it back to them.
I wont be using the additional tivo anyway,i plan to replace box of these boxes with Freesat.

The Tivo might only be acting as a freeview box, but it is owned by VM and you just rent it and as you havent given it back you will still be paying the monthly rental fee for that box.

After several phone calls to cancellations and speaking to several Indian muppets, I finally got a English speaking person - who without argument cancelled my contract from today.

Well i phoned them again this morning to query this,And they basically said that if i removed the "free" tivo from the package i have then the price would go up because i would not be in the "Player bundle".

But whatever,Im still saving some dosh anyway by doing away with the Tivo.

Package before - £86.68
Package now - £55.69

Farce that is Virgin continues after upgrading our area needlessly now we have rx level issues from our local cab 5 to 7 days of constant drops until they fix it. Totally useless service.

I had to submit 2 requests to Virgin for my free upgrade in Edinburgh, neither got through to them as I found out when I rang!

So the rep hit a button on the call and upgraded me to the 150mbps package lol

This was a few days ago but still.

I have been testing the normal bottlenecking things like youtube etc and its all been fine.

I am the only "virgin media customer" in my building though so maybe that has something to do with it

I never have issues and this has allowed me to increast my bitrate on twitch etc as well

currently on 100mb broadband and phone and i'm paying £43pm.

now looking at current deals i've cause to haggle a better deal. Especially the gamers deal.
Myself and my two sons all game so would be worth it.

Thos who have it. What's it like? Is it worth it?

tbh all thats different is it as 20Mb upload without traffic management, also the download speed is bump up a little.. it doesn't do anything for Latency, ping improvements...

if you upload a lot then yes it's worth it

I couldn't resist the Sky Q deal so we went for that.

Since I got a letter saying Virgin are upping price by £3.50 I decided its time to cancel them. However I kinda want to keep their internet.

Rather frustrating how much Virgin charge for broadband only. Its almost just as cheap to keep their crappy TV package.

Not happy with Virgin since I agreed to the free upgrade from 50mb to 70mb.

I was getting a stable 78ish mb anyway and rang them first to say so. I was assured that if I'm already getting 78 then the upgrade will give me more speed still, though they couldn't guarantee it.

So I agreed to the upgrade and I now get around 81mb, but the connection keeps dropping and I keep having to reset the router and even then it's up and down.

Might ring them and have a whinge.

here's mine atm (152Mb)

Has been fine the last year or so but once it goes like this, they're in no ******* hurry to spend a dime sorting it. I'm out.

I would, but where I am, my particular property (owned, sadly :p ) is a bit too far from my cabinet so I get awful speeds (18Mb), still better than this I guess...

I've only been quoted 16 - 22Mbps, but anything will be better than this connection...

Rather have a stable connection than a fast one.

After a weekend of testing, the gamer upload is staying at 21mb but the download is still allover the shop lowest being 5mb last night.

Going to cancel this week as in the 14 day cool off period and go back to normal 76mb fibre.
