called VM this morning just to check on our package etc, and the guy said the 200 gamer as gone up to £8. i was shocked. we told him that we are only £45.99 per month as that was the deal when we downgrade the tv package and upgraded the broadband to 200 gamer, so he put a 12 month £12 rolling credit on are account

Just tried to upgrade to the 200Mb gamer package. I did it via their online chat. I asked if there would be any further charges (one-off fees, etc) outside of the monthly price increase. Dude assured me there was none. I even asked if I could use my current super hub 2, he said yes, it will be fine.
He put the request through and that's when he told me that it would cost me £14.99 for a new super hub 3. I promptly cancelled the request.
Might give them a call instead and see how that goes. Should I threaten to leave them and see if they buckle?

also i have a Netgear WNDR3800 connected to my superb 1 as i've got it in modem mode.
Do people think it's worth leaving the new superb 3 and getting rid of the Netgear?

Right, I called them up. Quick and painless. Was quoted £5 less than I did online and I was told I can use my current super hub. So I am now on 200Mb gamer with 20Mb upload for an extra £5 a month. Will get home tonight, reboot my router and super hub and give it a whirl. Now why couldn't they have done that via the online chat?

I love Virgin, I am paying extra for Homeworks because I want 20mbps upload. They release a new Gamer tariff which is cheaper with the 20mbps upload. Nice :/ I can only hope they increase the Homeworks upload speed as otherwise I will be looking elsewhere.
Home works+ or just home works?
For £13 you get home works + 300down / 20 up, tech support for other devices and a few other perks
So just got home and rebooted Super hub and my ASUS router:
Though, my upload speed is still at 12Mb. Any idea when it should hit 20Mb? Should be instant I would have thought.

1. im not living at the house due to house refurb,
2. Im paying £55 a month and ive been told i cant change anything without going in to a new contract.
3. Plan would go up to £66 if I don't upgrade.
4. £19 for line rental when we dont really even use the phone line.
5. I cant get any of the new deal.
Im not sure if i want to upgrade if i cant use it but i also don't want to cancel at this point due to any potential discount

Just this second had an online chat with someone who advised that the 200Mbps only comes with 12Mbps upload and the 20Mb is for 300Mb. So I am on the phone now waiting to speak to someone about this and confirm.

And I asked for the gamer connection when I rang earlier today. That's when they confirmed it would be 200Mbps down and 20Mbps up. Still waiting to speak to them.

yup defo 20mb up. Call centres are crap at VM but everyone already knows this
Well just been on the call for about 30mins. They're sending out an engineer this Saturday to come and take a look. They did some stuff remotely, but I still cannot get 20Mbps upload. But I am definitely on the gamer package. I will keep testing my end for the rest of the week.

Can't see router status (I am back on router mode). All I can see are Device or Network status.
