Virgin Media Discussion Thread

If it's true that Virgin is upgrading upload speeds to 10/1 ratio then that would be awesome. Having 2mb uploads on my 20mb connection would make me very happy :)

Hmm, but I've noticed an increase of over 10ms on my ping in day to day gaming. :|
 
Got mine today :)

Chatting to the engineer they have been testing 200mb recently. Looking likely that when BT/whoever announce their next upgraded package Virgin will likely offer 100mb, then 150 etc..

Always one step (leap!) ahead of the competition.
 
I decided to stay with VM and i have my installation for 50Mbs tomorrow.
Will be dumping my ADSL connection soon as i dont work from home to much.

Cant wait to start getting some good speeds again as 20Mbs in my area is getting bad again.
 
i would love some solid info on these possible upgrades. when they are happening? who to? is everyone getting 5mb upload? will those of us on the 50mb package see an upgrade? will be watching here very closely
 
Probably as soon as bt finish there network and start increasing there packages n what not...Which will probably be never as they cant even get there normal internet to work anywhere let alone tehre infinity to be rolled out as fast as they planned lol..

IF they do suddenly come out with 80meg broadband when 70% of there customers cant even get 10meg then thats gonna **** me off man -_-

I'm pretty convinced that the Aberdeen server is just **** because I've always got crap speeds to it, and I always get 50 Meg or so from London based servers etc.
