If you are on the trial then you might want to edit out the serial number incase they can track it back to you.

Have VM said if there will be a cap or not, I have heard lots of yes they will, no they won't for the past month or so on different forums.

Saying that, if they don't won't that cause a bit of a stir from everyone else on the other tiers?

I see them being to offer truly unlimited 50mbit connection somehow

reading the virgin.discussion newsgroups there has been no mention of 50 meg caps, since the very reason there are caps in the first place is to prevent network congestion which the 50 meg network will do anyway for everyone.

also its going to be a free upgrade for xl customers.

All their other home consumer services have a cap.

If 50mb doesn't start out with a cap (to reel you in) it will have one soon after.
You'll probably get to use your full speed for about 2hrs (4Gb) before the auto cap kicks in.

thats because other home services share the same network. 50 meg will have its own dedicated infrastructure

Free upgrade i doubt it,you'll have to pay for a one off fee for the modem and extra if you want the fastest broadband in the uk they arent going to be dishing it out for free and not making any money on it.

I'm on XL at the moment and I'd like to see 20mb/10mb or 10mb/10mb rather than 50mb/2mb

i'd be perfectly happy to stay with my 20mbit + no caps or at least more relaxed caps than moving to 50mbit.

but that's never going to happen
