We get 200mb BB and Landline unlimited anytime inc to mobiles for £68 per month (our landline gets used heavily )

reckon i can get it cheaper if i call?

Following on from the last update, Got a call from VM yesterday and the guy asked me about the recent package change (dropped phoneline in order to pay less as line wasn't being used, and dropped form 200Gamer to just 200).

The price agreed was £43 until December when I could phone up and see what deals can be made.

The call yesterday was offering me the phone line back as a bundle and for a fixed £40 a month fee for a new 12 month contract. This would be the only price I pay so would not be affected by any further price increases in those 12 months.

Seemed like a decent bundle deal to me compared to what I was paying before, so went for it.

I'll re-evaluate what's available next year and the state of the SH3 or SH4 if they realise realise efforts to fix the SH3 are probably a waste of time and money.

Got a new contract to sign through email. £37 for 300MB BB + phone (that we don't use) for 12 months, then £55 a month thereafter. 200mb + TV + phone was £53 per month. Can't help but think that's not the best of deals after all. Don't think I'll be signing that somehow...

So my bt tv and internet is up for renewal. Last time I looked VM were pretty expensive for the gamer packages. I’m on the website now and I can see the section which mentions them but can’t actually find an option for them in the B.B. selection screen.

Aparently I’m in a 300mb area and can get 300mb, tv and phone for 43 a month which looks good but is the gamer bit extra on top. Don’t want any traffic shaping which is what I believe the gamer bit gets you? Anyone shed any light?

Absolutely, but it's area dependent mate.
Cheers. May have to bite the bullet. Apparently they do a pre install check a week before which will let me know ping.

The fact they are over 3x the speed and £5 less a month than I’m paying seems to good to be true.

@mrk so you still rocking your 2ac?

I had a problem with my 2ac which needed an engineer visit and the engineer can only install a superhub 3 which I refused due to the issues, problem is they can't replace the 2ac at all now.

So what do we do?

Just get the SH3. This whole latency thing doesn't really affect things on a normal day. Although the issue is there, it's getting a little silly.

I browse, play games casually and competitively without any issues...

Did you have the cable plugged in when you booted the SH3? You can't just plug in a device after the SH3 boots, as it won't assign an IP. If you'd have rebooted it after connecting the cable, you'd have received the WAN IP.

Finally had time to try setting up the TP Link again and working flawlessly now, plugged the TP Link into the SH3 before clicking confirm on modem mode, worked after the SH3 finished rebooting.

I do yes, I won't be changing it until there's an SH4, or a confirmed fix on the SH3.

The engineer today mentioned the fact the SH4 was due soon. You just praying you don't get any issues with your 2ac in the mean time?

Guy today was thrown back because I refused the SH3. But he was cool about it and said he'll read up on the problem because he's never heard of it.

What issue do you have? Mine is in modem only mode so just sits there mo-ing those dems :D
