Virgin Media increasing broadband speeds by 20 - 200% starting February

maybe only people with just the internet will get this increase and people with internet/phone/tv won't get this increase?

Sorry, but I got a e-mail stating that my bundle price is going up by £3.50 although they haven't even bothered fixing the changes from the last two price increases since we're supposed to be paying £30/month for TV, phone and internet, but it's now almost £40/month and with all the nagging call they make with "do you want this, that or the other" my father has had enough and is moving everything to sky (£55/month for all TV channels (except the premium cost channels), one multiroom unit (free for the first year) phone and unlimited internet is nothing to be sniffed at since I doubt virgin media could match that) and considering the amount of problems that have been going wrong with the internet the price increase is the straw that broke the camels back.

well at the moment im paying £25 for 50Mb, £13.90 for phone, £6.50 for tv, total £45~ but tbh i have been getting great service for well over 16 years so i don't mind paying it.

also as i already said everything is going up in price, not just VM prices

I'm constantly on the phone to Virgin regarding slow speeds and disconnections. The other day I was getting 5 of the 50 MB I pay for and I hadn't downloaded anything for days and days so I wasn't being throttled. When I asked how they proposed to be able to double my speed from 50-100 MB, when they can't even deliver me 10 MB with any regularity the person on the other end just appologised for the umpteenth time. I suggested that they stopped paying Mr Bolt, scrap the advertising campaign and forget about doubling everyone's speed and spend the money on giving customers what they pay for now.

I'm already going back to Sky for TV and phone, I'm now researching whether or not Plus Net is a viable alternative. They reckon they can deliver 34MB to me for £16.50 a month instead of the £35 Virgin will charge for 50MB I'm not getting at the moment after I've reduced my package to broadband only.

VM as got they ways by saying Up to xxxMb. if it says you'll get xxMb guaranteed then far enough...

companys can't make everybody happy. if they scrap doubling everyone's speed to pay to fix the bad areas, the people who have good connections won't be happy due to no speed increase.. and if they don't scrap doubling everyone's speed , the people who have good connections will be happy due to a speed increase but people who have bad connections won't be happy

Norwich is being done between Oct 2012 - Jun 2013

I'd rather they increased the upload speed to half the download speed and ensured at high quality connection. Top speeds mean very little.

Speaking of the upload speed, I finally got the upload upgrade yesterday. Surely I have to be one of the last people in the country lol!

Lets hope they sort out this upgrade a tad quicker for me to make up for the wait. ;)
