if they gave you a router with the VM300 modem then yes. because the router only has 100Mb ports

Modem only mode the best solution to the piece of rubbish that is the super hub. Im going to try argue to keep my current 50mb modem though.
The Superhub isn't as bad as people make out. I've had mine before Modem mode came out, back then i just disabled everything manually and bridged my WRT54GL, I've not had a single problem with it bridged, or more recently.. in modem mode.
The only problems they have is when you use wireless, which can easily be avoided with Modem mode.

My superhub gives atrocious wifi. I'm thinking about picking up a third party router at some point because it is so bad.
The first set of Upgrades have been announced, I'll be one of the first.

The 50Mb modem doesn't support 8 downstream channels, so I doubt they will allow you to keep it.

Cool, Im in the March/April batch so looking forward to getting my 50 to 100 upgrade.
BTW Ive had the superhub for a good while now and dont have any problems with it at all, I have it set to wireless n 5 GHz to avoid congestion and ive also got a Linksys wireless router in a different part of the house set to wirless g ...works great.

Had 50MB at our old place for a long while (June 2010-Sept 2011) and foolishly went down to 30MB at the new house.
Realised we couldnt cope anymore and just upgraded to 60MB, which will become 100MB when our area gets its upgrade (April-June, our "exchange" is due to be upgraded to 100MB in April).
Two reasons I post this. 1, we got this upgrade and calls upgrade to evenings and weekends for just £1 more a month. Great !
Second reason, they said the speed upgrade would be there in about 10 minutes. Its been about 25-30 minutes and still no sign. Rebooted the modem twice in case but no joy... any ideas?

Hmmm that should mean that my exchange should have gone from 20mb to 60mb. Not heard or seen any performance change. Mind you I haven't been online at home for a while.
Does one need a new hub for 60mb as I am using quite an old router they provided when I signed up for 20mb.
Try leaving your modem switched off for 15mins.

It would be nice if they gave you a dashboard like mobile phone networks do with their my account areas! You will have to consult either your router's bandwidth log or install software on each PC such as DUMeter.
This is why I upgraded from 30 to 50, it only cost an additional £6 a month but with the freedom of having no caps.

My internet has been going stupidly slow recently, mainly this evening and a few times last week. I'm due to be upgraded in March-April so I'm not sure if that's something to do with it. But it's bloody annoying, feels like being on dial-up again sometimes.
