Peeps, post what machine you're installing it on (desktop pc, lappy, talbot etc) as well as what mobo chipset, just to aid peeps having any problems.

My download is sailing right now, while this morning it was a total mess :)

Installing it via dual boot on a overclocked Barton [email protected] / Nforce2.

got it installed on my desktop: intel pentium m/intel 875 chipset/x800gto. since installing the latest ati drivers i have to unplug and reconnect my usb/keyboard when i get to the login screen. it seems they aren't detected on startup....

apart from that - so far so good. :p

Trying to find out why the server isn't letting me put a file over 2GB on it now, hopefully it's some kind of limiter somewhere as then I can up the limit to 5gb or something, but if it's because of the disk format then I won't be able to do it :(

I'll let you guys know as soon as I find out if I can or can't host it.

Craig

I'm about to install this onto an Old IDE 80 gigger. Hopefully my system should run it ok. Thus with 3 HDD's I can choose what to boot with each time I start up windows?

Also I take it the drivers I need are around on the net somewhere? DFI motherboard drivers, ATI CCC & Creative X-Fis being the main ones.

Ok, so I usually give XP a 20 GB partition to itself. Worth increasing the size for Vista to 25 or 30?

No, I plan on putting a 18GB partition for Vista.

(I can't really afford to take away any more from my hdd.)

Well its a very "pretty" OS - problem is since my PC blew up im only running a 256MB PCI (FX5200) and its running like a dog with all the "prettyness"

It also changed the drive from D: to C: which no doubt will cause XP issues :(

Amazing how much the menus and that have changed, will take some getting used to

It says windows needs 15gb, but wont install unless theres more than 17

Does anyone know where to get lan drivers for the asrock uli dual sata II motherboard, because I cant get the internet working without them, good going microsoft, by beta 2 youd expect basic functionality drivers to be bundled in.

Let me know how yours runs dude, i got similar spec bar the gfx as mine died

In what way does it screw up existing windows installs? Say if I've got XP on one partition and am about to put Vista on another, is that going to wreck my XP install? I won't bother if it does.

I cant believe its supposed to be released early next year, its more like alpha at the moment.

Makes the desktop go blank, puts all the programs/docs into an old windows folder, alters the registery so that no programs are associated with files, stops loads of stuff working by saying they are not a valid win32 application, breaks the search function, it's worse than a virus.
