I cant believe its supposed to be released early next year, its more like alpha at the moment.

If you'd have seen the alpha releases, you'd not be saying that. Beta2 is a MASSIVE improvement. Sure there's things that won't work, but providing you don't rely on it as the main OS for your PC, that you report the bugs and most of all have patience, then the final release will be a whole better experience.

Without lan and audio drives you cant use the pc at all, it screws up your other install so once youve installed it youre ******. It forces you to rely on it as your main os.

Its worth trying the XP Drivers, worked with the on board sound drivers of my SN25P although im using a technet copy which is of an older build (5308).

Well why put it on a machine you need so much. Its a beta. Not a final production.

If its installed on an entire different hdd, thats fine though isnt it...

So, then got a installation on each hdd, xp one one and vista on the other, witout problems as we have above ^^

Because I was under the impression it didnt destroy the currently installed operating system, microsoft dont understand the idea of dual boot.

Can you do a repair of XP though?

For anyone with a fast upload speed, they can upload it to my server and then people can download it quickly. I will then post a link to it on here, no need for ftp when downloading.

It will take ages to upload :P.

What server do you have and where? If you want you get download it from mine.

Nice, just tried to install it on my main PC, gets to 22% copying the files then stops with the error 80070241, then tried it on my old machine and it wont even get to the screen after selecting your Language. I know its a beta but I kinda expected it would at least install, using very common h/w aswell

Will try downloading and using the x64 version, but if even the x86 won't install I don't have much faith that x64 will :(

Mines working fine - i thought the drive change would mess it up - but it appears it hasnt changed at all....very strange

Vista shows D: as XP and C: as Vista

XP shows C: as XP and D: as Vista...

LOL

Just rebooted Vista and showed the login screen but then dont show anything..like the output is somewhere else :S

I had that - so did a reburn of the image worked fine.

you could have corrupt media. Have your burnt it to a DVD?

Yeah I burnt two DVD's incase I had a bad burn, even though Nero verified it ok, it's possible it could have been a bad d/l I guess.

Is there a verbose mode for the install? That shows you a more detailed error, like if it was a read, or write problem like on XP's install?

[edit]

AMD X2 4400+, Asus A8N-Premium mobo, 2gb ram, 7800GTX for the main machine.
Intel 2.4c, not sure the mobo, but 256mb ram and Ati 9800Pro for the old machine
