Does anyone know how to install a driver manually?

Go into the control Panel and change it to classic view and do it XP style :)

Can anyone confirm if they have Removed the "Windows Needs your Permission to use this program" rubbish in this release? If not i will post up some details of how to turn it off ;)

It will take ages to upload :P.

What server do you have and where? If you want you get download it from mine.

It is a UK dedicated server, unlimited bandwidth and space. I don't really know a lot about it tbh. I do know it is "adult web hosting" though. Do you have a link to your site? :)

Without lan and audio drives you cant use the pc at all, it screws up your other install so once youve installed it youre ******. It forces you to rely on it as your main os.

I may be wrong, I'm an opened minded friendly chap, but isn't there a bloody big warning saying to not rely it as your main OS?

Im not going to bother repeating it, just read my previous posts.

It's changed the boot menu here (even if I explicitly point at the drive with XP as the boot device), but if I choose "Previous Windows Version", it boots XP fine, with the drives as they were.

i've actually installed and removed this beta on a dual boot config. my windows xp install is fine. just boot with the windows xp cd and drop to the recovery console and run these 2 commands.

fixboot
fixmbr

i've formatted the partition vista was on and it's as if i've never had it..... :)

Anyone successfully installed the 64 bit version?

Booted from the dvd and all works ok BUT EXTREMELY slowly.. After 1 hour it had only reached 80% copying files and I gave up.

I was 98% through my download.

Decided to have a quick go on HL2 Episode 1 while i was waiting and my ******* Logitech G7 mouse decided to notify me my battery was low

Total lockup and had to reboot

Dooh, its me own fault, i know i should have checked but ive not long had this mouse and i completely forgot

:(

Gutted dude. You might be able to resume from ftp or something.

Basically if you get locked out of xp, boot up the system with yer xp cd. It'll detect an active XP install automatically and ask you if you wish to recover it via the emergency recovery console. It's a bit like DOS but unfriendly as hell half the time.

Normally Fixmbr should do the trick. Recently installed Unbunto which overwrote the mbr on my hard disk leaving me unable to get into XP. A quick 'fixmbr' worked a treat.

Hi, I've just tried to install the X64 version on my PC to my two raid_0 'd' drives and it's failed to detect them. I did run the advisor before I tried to install and it said that no action was required for the ULi sata connection. Is there drivers I need?
