*** VR Deals Thread ***

Grips is something that I wanted to have, the AMVR ones did not impress due to their buckles. They were VERY uncomfortable. Then again I did not care for the AMVR face pad.
These are decent so far with no issues noted (Kiwi brand) and cost seems decent. Care will be needed when changing batteries but that is down to the design by Meta and not the product. Two years warranty with them. Grip is good and, as yet, no signal type issues noted.
I'll need to see how they last when being adjusted by other players etc.
The overall quality is good, I'll review them on Amazon later.

Thanks for that link, I will read those.

I bought tea for god
shame it's not a cross buy I was hoping to compare pc to quest

I read some old posts from the Devs and they said they would support cross buy but it was not possible until both versions on the main store and not applabs.

hopefully now that blocker is removed we may get the cross buy eventually

na your good :) i do that all the time :D

i havent actually played Tea For God
its been on my radar a long time since it was on sidequest, my main issue is i dont have a lot of space so it wouldnt work so well for me.
when meta fix my account i might get it to try it, but doubt they'll fixe t be for the 4th sept..
others my have it thouhg so i hope they might commet on it.

You don't need much space for Tea For God. That's the beauty of the game. It works itself around the space you have.

What is cross buy..?

Well, guess you but one title you can use on Steam and also independently on the headset?

Just never heard of it (I'm new to this!).

i would have pruchased over weekend when i was reminded about standing/sitting option but somethigns up with my account and it doenst let me purchase anything for some reason.
plus my normall space is a square of about 1/2m Monday nights purchased agaisnt my bed. only on weekends i have access to the living room with more space and option to smash TV :D

What is cross buy..?
i.e. you purchase on Meta Quest 3 and can play it on Oculas Rift (PCVR)

So, in terms of cross-buy....How flexible has it been with games that are purchased from Meta..

For example, our Steam games are playable on any hardware as long as it meets the games requirements.

If games are bought from the Meta store and they do not specifically mention any type of play am I right to assume they can be played using any Meta headset registered to the account holder who purchased the game..? That would also include future Meta based headsets.

Thanks

almost but not quite....

it isnt steam , Oculus sorry Facebook..... nope that isnt right either, Meta! actually has a PCVR store of its own as well as a quest one.

in quite a lot of cases you buy a game on one, you get a free copy on the other . its handy actually as it can allow multiplayer on 2 platforms or just enable you to compare ports. it could be if you have bought a few quest titles you already have the startings of an meta PCVR library.

examples....... too many to list really but

After the fall
thrill of the fight
eleven table tennis
walk about mini golf
Apex Construct
Hubris
The Climb
Robo Recall
Beat saber (initially not cross buy but at some point over the last few months got added to my PC account)

all offer it and am sure more as well.

they can be played on any meta headset you just sign into the account on your pc.

also (unofficially) PCVR meta store titles can also run on any steamVR headset using the software ReVive. it isnt perfect but works quite well... well enough for me to use it on bought games on my reverb G2 and my mate bought games on the store with his Vive.

i dont have a crystal ball so cant be certain but i expect any future meta headset which supports PCVR will be able to run them. ReVive is obviously a riskier proposal given its unofficial

Thanks, some of the titles I have accumulated include....

of course, not knowing about any future headset etc, but I would not expect a Quest 4 to not be able to use my existing library.
I do have a bias to Steam versions, not just for Post Processing etc, but that way not dependant on Meta hardware. There are some strong deals tho on Meta, especially with the 30% offer running.

Not heard of ReVive, seems promising with what you describe. Assuming that will work with their PCVR titles.

Even Virtual desktop can be iffy trying to run Meta PCVR titles when used.

It's a wallet protection feature :p

ah, that might be a bit too small!! It does need the space to take at least a couple of steps in each direction. It looks like you are going to have to play it on the weekend in the living room. Which you will have no problem getting after the first weekend as it won't be used for anything else because the TV will be broken. :p

The additional details photo you have there seems to be for a game on the Meta Quest store not the Meta PCVR store. So you need to look at the PCVR section of the store. If it's a crossbuy game, it will be in both sections of the store but the supported platforms will change.

Revive has been around for ages. And yes, it works for Meta's PCVR games.

What games are you having trouble with? Have had no issues Meta's PCVR titles when using Virtual Desktop.

Thanks, I do have to remind myself that the store is segmented between their PCVR titles and the Meta Quest store type.

Two games that have been well documented, meaning with VD and Meta support, are....

Robo Recall and Google Earth.

Robo Recall will only ever work IF using VD with an environmental variable assigned to Windows 11.
Google Earth, with VD, will not work. Not an issue as I use the Steam version instead.

Found the fix for Robo Recall over at the Meta forums...

the fix only being needed by myself if I try and launch Robo Recall with VD.

as daft as it sounds it worth checking both stores when it is a crossbuy title. Sometimes one store will be cheaper than the other.

once you buy on one if you then go to the other store you have to buy the game again but it is for £0

Never thought of that. Just bought two Warplanes titles, through Eneba, a stronger offer than the sale from Meta. Then the yare available as PCVR titles via Steam.

Hi, I got After the Fall on the Quest 3 in the 30% Sept promo, it played okay (2 player co-op) but it didnt compare well to Dungeons of Eternity and I couldn't see myself putting time into this over that game. So I refunded it.

Still looking for a multiplayer co-op game though, any recommendations? or any new games coming up that I should look out for?

Dunno if you guys use key sites but this morning got a few titles for the total sum of less than £5

Vertigo Remastered
No More Rainbows
Trover Saves the Universe

All look good, especially looking forward to Trover out of those.
