not really, if you compiled a "cheap cars handlers list" the megane, clio, Focus would be near the top...

give an open price bracket, and you'd want to see ComparoT1? M3? Monaro? up there not a 15k 2.0 clio!!

As I said, you miss the entire point of handling and fun...

You assume that because a Ferrari any Ferrari is faster, for it most certainly is, it will handle better or be more fun. Have a look at Dangerous's thread about his Hungry trip. You will see 3 Black R26R's travelling together. The lads in those cars have garages full of exotica but they said the R26R's were every bit as much fun as their exotica and come to think of it probably more so. On track they could be blatted around all day, could ride the kerbs could be thrown around like a toy and always gave a great level of enjoyment not least because of the limited risk in binning them.

great so why is the clio 200 in the list and not the r26 then?!
Because they didn't choose it, it's subjective.

best handling or most fun? u cant have it both ways man!
It's The Best Drivers Car, that was the test and it's subjective.....and who says you can't have it both ways........it's subjective after all.....

most fun, caterham would be up there would it not?
Perhaps, maybe in your eyes but at the end of the day you weren't choosing them and it's subjective.

You Sir, are talking bum gravy.

How is understeer fun?

Also, all this rubbish about Evo magazine and their top 'drivers cars'...no mention of an M3? A Clip Cup is in there but there is no M3...are you having a laugh? You actually believe that rubbish?

They're journalists at the end of the day and most of them talk crap

You are aware that you can make a RWD car understeer too, yes?

But out of interest, what do you drive? What is your driving experience?

Try an ITR. People bang on about it for a reason - its the only FWD car I've ever driven that has such a beautiful balance that it adopts an oversteer stance, and you can actually steer on the throttle. Its amazing. Not a hint of understeer.

And just because they don't agree with your opinions, doesn't mean they talk crap. Its just that, an opinion, but in this case its a collective opinion for a magazine. Either way, I'm not quite sure if your a fanboy, a schoolboy, or just extremely blinkered...

Keep digging.

There is two type of understeer, power understeer, and understeer due to the ballance of the car.

All FWD cars will power understeer, providing there is enough power to brake traction on the front wheels.

Understeer due to ballance on a FWD car, thats down to suspension setup and weight distrubution. The Integra is neutral, and will oversteer / understeer depending on how it's driven.

EDIT. And for those you still don't believe FWD can oversteer, here's that Cavalier again showing how not to take Druids!

Not really any of what you have just mentioned. I have a Carrera 4S and a VX220 Turbo, but have owned a couple of M3's and some very powerful FWD cars, so I'm speaking from my own experience.

Never driven a fun FWD car on a track, it's that simple. If you have a decent amount of power then they struggle to grip on the exit and drift wide

Why do you keep banging on about this? No one said FWD "can't oversteer". That would be a stupid thing to say.

All that video shows us that.. shock horror, yes, a FWD car can still get lift-off oversteer particularly on a soggy damp track approaching a slightly off camber turn. Big whoop? This is nowhere near the same as invoking oversteer by mashing the right pedal at an inappropriate time. There are quite a few hot french hatches that built their name on this trait of having a fairly loose rear end whilst under any form of braking.

What if they don't have enough power to do that though, for example ITRs.

Drive a FWD with a LSD or similar. My old Rover turbo would tighten the line if you applyed power mid-corner, no power understeer as it had a Torsen differential as standard (suspension was modified though), that had about 270hp.

Even so only a muppet would boot it and expect it to go around the corner, the same can be said about a RWD. Do similar in that and you will end up going backwards through the nearest hedge.

Your blanket posts on FWD cars make you look like an idiot, and going by your posts alone in this thread, I do not believe you have the cars you claim to.
