**WANT 8GB 2400MHz FOR AS LITTLE AS £59.99 Inc. VAT? - THEN CHECK THIS THREAD OUT!!** (MV-3V4G3D/US)

Mine run happy at 2133 9-10-10-24 1T at 1.6v on a p67a-ud5 gigabyte.

Don't ask me more i just use what people post as i am not that a expert. They work

Thats with 16gb right?

If so maybe its an issue with the z77 boards or something?.. idk. Im just hoping they can fix it via a bios update otherwise were all going to be left to deal with it probably.

are you contacting msi/gigabyte and ask them to test with samsung green memory? they might send you a modified bios to try

using latest beta bios's?

Yes... they managed to get me from max 1800 to max 2000 with a beta bios... but haven't heard anything since.

(this is mentioned more comprehensively earlier in the thread)

yeah i remember, ill ask stasio if hes heard anything from gigabyte bios engineers,

Seems that 2760MHz is my limit with the modules I have. Was hoping to get 2800MHz but still a nice clock overall. Though 2400MHz gives more bandwidth in read, write and copy tests as you can get a good balance of speed vs latencies.

Can someone tell me what is better.

I have 16gb of the Samsung memory but a friend gave me 8GB Corsair Dominator GT 1600 MHZ running 7-7-7-20 out of the box.

Will the dominators be faster than the Samsung? At the moment 8GB is more than enough.

Confused which to use... what would you guru's use

This might get lost between the post, anyone can answer this please. Sorry for bumping it but the gigabyte post fly over my screen :P

probably but it would be very marginal, out of the two the samsung win hands down on performance per £

its worth asking now and again, they are pretty fast in replying

heres current list of gigabyte beta bios's i dont know if any are newer than what your using? worth atry, can always flash back

I posted on that forum and a Gigabyte guy said this -

"Reports on Z77 incompatibilities with this memory have been sent in, keep an eye on this thread for an update once I hear back with BIOS updates"

That's good news... hopefully MSI will acknowledge it soon too.

Hey all,

Although it does not appear on the UK MSI downloads website yet, it looks like they might have a new BIOS out for their Z77 range.

Has anyone checked to see if this resolves the Samsung Green Memory issue yet?

Cheers,

Matt.

Yes - that's the beta bioses they sent to us... very small improvement for me & no improvement for some.

I can't get this RAM stable @ 2133

tried 12,12,12,28 2T and fails SuperPi right away

1.6V, CPU VCCSA @ 1.25

Maybe because i've got 32GB?

I would have thought this board would be perfect for overclocking RAM...

I get the message "NOT CONVERGENT IN SQR05"

It is!!! Install just 8gb and set dram v to 1.55v,I bet it passes

Those on MSI or Giga are you only setting primary timings???? You not tried setting other timings in Bios to get em stable??? secondary etc???

Would have thought would have been good up to 2133 at least with 32GB, maybe stuggling with anything higher.

Have you had a look in the power control page (where the likes of LLC are listed), and checked the VCCSA values in there?

Perhaps try high vccsa llc, or set phase control to extreme? There are some settings for memory in there just underneath the vccsa settings.

If you have not adjusted these previously, give them a go, and see how you get along.

Also, on the DIMM timing control page, there is a setting for "Rampage Tweak", try this on "mode 1" first.

Hey 8 Pack,

I'm new to memory overclocking, but am experiencing the issue with an MSI Z77A GD-65, where I can't post obove 1600MHz.

Are you able to provide a full breakdown of primary / secondary timings and I'll give them a try?

I would love to hit 2133MHz (which seems to be the sweet spot), but would take anything right now :)

Thanks for the tips, i tried all you mentioned, and still SuperPi fails within seconds. I even upped the VCCSA to 1.275 and it will post windows (and played 5 hours of Diablo 3 no crashes) but if Super Pi isnt running, its obviously not stable :-(

Maybe you can't get 2133 with 32GB? Real shame..
