**WANT 8GB 2400MHz FOR AS LITTLE AS £59.99 Inc. VAT? - THEN CHECK THIS THREAD OUT!!** (MV-3V4G3D/US)

Currently got mine running 2232 at 11-11-11-28-1t with 1.45V

In time I will either try dropping the voltage or tightening the timings. For now, I think what I have is pretty decent :)

We are the ONLY UK stockist of this product and it is very hard memory to source worldwide. We shall be offering it at this special introductory price for a very short period of time which will go up when we've sold our first 100 kits. We've ordered an additional 500 units but pricing has shot up massively due to Elpida in Japan going bankrupt this week which is resulting in all memory prices going up globally, thankfully we ordered this a few weeks ago, meaning we can offer this very low price on the first 100 sold. :)

Ok so you are saying here (around 2 months ago) that your prices were VERY LOW and would rise a lot.

Then how come AFTER this 100 units sold and a very short time after you started selling them i was able to buy 2 sets for £41 each.

Lie much?

things dont change that much for them to allow such a discount.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt as you appear to be a newish member.
But Gibbo doesn't lie on the forums.

As the previous poster says things change.

With computer parts the stock prices vary, often quite rapidly and sometimes quite drastically, something I suspect you would be aware of if you've ever spent much time watching the prices - I've seen ram go up and down by 10-20% in a matter of days on manufacturers direct outlets.

I've personally been stung by it several times, buying ram one day at one price, the next day it's dropped by (i think it was about 25%), I've also seen prices rise massively after I've bought parts.

It's also hard to forecast what prices will do in the future - I suspect Gibbo was probably informed by suppliers, and manufacturers that they expected the price to rise, but for some reason didn't.
It can happen for all sorts of reason, iirc in the past Gibbo has managed to source stock from when another retailer has cancelled or a manufacturer is killing off the product, and because the distributor/manufacturer has a glut they want rid of, they let him buy it cheap, as long as he buys a lot/all of it (so at a time when you'd expect prices to rise, and they have at some places, he's managed to get them cheaper than normal).

[edit]
Scratch that leniancy, second account.

shame samsung don't sell a 2x8GB kit instead of 2x4gb and 4x4gb kit as those with just 2 ram slots can't get 16GB of samsung 30nm.

Ram looks seriously good though:) Samsung could do with creating a 1866mhz, 2166mhz and 2400mhz kit that are clocked by default so that non-overclockers can enjoy those speeds, low profile ram, less voltage, heat etc.

I got these from OCUK a week ago. When Samsung called them low profile they meant it. This RAM is tiny, it must barely stick out from the slot when it installed.

God damnit, stung again...

I was preparing my list of items to order last night and thought I may as well wait till monday to order things... a day later an the ram has shot up in price. Every bloody time I am prepared to order something the price changes, happened the other day with a 7970 card it went from a discounted price to +£40 over night.

I wouldn't mind so much if the delivery charges were fair but what the minimum charge is like £7.95 for posting 100grams on top of the price rise :(

Shipping comes to £3.26 for 2nd class if its just the RAM?

Was looking at this last night thinking thats good RAM for the money, I'll order some over the coming weekend, see the prices gone up now!

Haven't ordered RAM in a while too.

Will not buy the 8GB kit until it dips to £40 again, and probably would have got a 3570k and mobo on top, but it halted my buy, for now.

Pretty annoyed about the price change, if I'd have known OCUK were going to behave like this, I'd have got it last week... now I simply won't buy it till it's down again.

Heres me coming for a quick read of the thread thinking some people have put up some overclocking results.

Instead a bunch of you are just whining about the pricing, I got it at the original price and you dont see me coming in here complaining. If you dont like the price dont buy it. Simple as that.

If you dont got anything on topic about the RAM to post just dont say anything.

Myself, I got my Ivy bridge coming today. So im looking foward to finally seeing what it can do. I'll be sure to post back once I got it all running in a day or two.

If you don't like the moaning, simple ignore it. Jesus... did we insult you or something? Think about why this bothers you so much and take a few deep breaths.
