Warhammer 40k (Henry Cavill and Amazon)

I didn't understand the last part, but still really funny, and probably true :D

The Rock doesn't need any of this painting battle orcs and pretend fighting stuff on his resume anyway, it's all for Jabronis.

In reality The Rock would come on set on day 1 (nice and early due to his work ethic), he'd take one look at some kid painting some aluminium figurine and tell him to paint it, add a second coat of paint, get that figurine real nice and shiny, roll it up sideways and stick it up his candy........

rp2000

Just working from how he treated his pet project Black Adam and his refusal to tie a Shazam derived character actually into Shazam so he could go straight for a crossover with Superman.

Quite surprising really since as a wrestler he never seemed to have any problem with putting other people over.

All we can tell you right now is that an elite band of screenwriters, each with their own particular passion for Warhammer, is being assembled to help bring the setting and characters you love to the screen.
I'm betting right now that Gav Thorpe is part of that group :D

Anyone able to recommend some top teir books in the 40k universe - that's not the horus heresy (picked a couple of those up 4 odd years ago and was very underwhelmed)

anything by aaron dembski bowden both the black legion series, the nightlords series, the emperors gift to name a few.
Hmm, looks like The Nightlords is complete so to speak whereas the Black Legion seeks to be stuck on 2 out of 3 novels - unless my Google fu failed badly :D
Eisenhorn/Ravenor series are the top dogs imo
Seems the 3 novels in the Eisenhorn series have been rolled into one 'omnibus' edition.

Looks like I have my starting point with nightlords and eisenhorn. Cheers lads

I don’t think you can go wrong with anything by Dan Abnett (tends to be quite comic book-y in style, and that’s no bad thing), Aaron Demski-Bowden (tends more towards deeper character pieces) and Chris Wraight (somewhere in the middle).

If you’re looking for something lighter, Nate Crowley’s Ork and Necron books are fun.

Well, this is going to be interesting, hopefully we see some r rated bolter action.

Think a rogue trader type setting, story might be good, but really can't see how they can introduce the world without a good 10 minute prologue

Depending on the story, I don’t think you’d need a long prologue. I know people who’ve enjoyed series like Eisonhorn and Gaunt’s Ghost without having a deep appreciation of the lore. It helps that most people in the 40K universe are just as ignorant of their history and what’s going on around them. :p
