Warhammer 40k: Space Marine

The problem being it would have the same problem that Dawn of War 2 is having, it wouldn't be 40k at all. You'd have to have unbalanced teams. For example a team of 10 space marines against 10 imperial guard? Rape-age.

so make the multiplayer space marines vs chaos (or other equally fitting and roughly equal opponents (orks verus imperial guard spring to mind)) or come up with gameplay modes and team numbers that balance it out (5 spacemarines versus 25 orks -cleanse, orks get unlimited respawn, marines get limited, score as many kills over a given area of terrain within a time limit, flag caps earn an additional number of points) and so on.

I think this could really work if you played as a dreadnought or some kind of special character who is knowned for near invincibility - Casius et al. Then you could conveibly take on equally armed stuff and win. Otherwise you are not sticking to the fluff.

I think Squad based FPS skirmishes would be great, even playing different classes. Forward advance as a scout, then air support comming in - drop pods raining down, then switching to control a Marine, a Terminator etc. Would be so so good.

its probably using the GOW engine

i too am a sucker for 40k

i read all the novels and still play a bit of table top.

this and dark millennium are at the top of my list.

Hmm, trailer looks good but not very accurate. I doubt a primarch could go through orks like that space marine was!

MEGA 40K NERD ALERT

lol every book ive read in the heresy series portrays the primarchs opposite to this.

But yeah its a computer game take DOW2 for example look at how long it takes to kill an ork in that compared to spacemarine.

I prefer spacemarine, explosive bolter rounds are always described as being able to rip most things to shreds.

On the other hand chainswords don't tend to cut things down as portrayed like say a power sword would.

I just cant wait to play a space marine. I am a great lover of all the lore associated with 40k and to play the chars i read about will be great !

Primarchs should be able to rip through a horde fairly easily especially someone like Angron! /geek

Massively looking forward to this game especially if there is a good storyline involved.

This game should have been set in the Heresy with you playing one of the primarchs...oooh oooh or it could let you chose from multiple primarchs each with different weapon stats and skills.

I just came up with a better game than them :D

Well in that case, can't we just open up all the other races? Dibs on Eldar

I hope there are action RPG elements included like wargear looting and new weapons/psyker powers.

Relic are not saying if there are any other races in the game.

However in past games orks have always been manipulated by followers of the ruinous powers be it dark eldar or one of the chaos legions.

I agree the warhammer 30k (heresy) universe i find much better but the novel series is still developing as is the lore.

once that is done and the series is more complete i wouldn't be surprised to see a game based upon it.

I find it odd that this keeps happening in the games when it doesn't seem to mention it that much in other books etc in the universe? Although I guess one could argue that the Ork god Mork and Gork could just be the chaos gods talking to them, especially with regards to Ghazghul and the Armageddon wars.

Really looking forward to this. Like others have said hopefully it wont dissapoint.

Any news on the multiplayer aspect of it? Would quite like a Socom style MP game out of this :)
