Wasteland ARMA II Mos : Server Details

Missed a bit of excitement last night I see, all the admins have access to tools which make administrating the server a lot easier.

We often play on TS with a large group of people and often people that we don't know very well, so if we were exploiting the tools we have at our disposal for personal gain it would soon be flagged up and the server would probably die. If there is no trust in the admin team then I don't think people will stay playing there very long.

The admins on this server are some of the best I've come across whilst gaming online in any game. ARMA is so easy to script that no matter what they do people will always exploit. Luckily there's usually always an admin online to dispose of them within 5 minutes. If the admins abused their powers it would be easily spotted.

Melbo..

As you know kett has released his version as well now, fancy firing it on server two.

See how it goes?

Might freak some people out, having to work for the money!

Change log is below

I'm done with arma development now, it's the opposite of fun but I have this version to release to people.
*
You WILL need CBA because I do one call to it but if you don't want CBA on your server just find this line,
[-1, {player globalChat _this}, _text] call CBA_fnc_globalExecute;
Inside of blockedweapons and remove or recode.

Those changes could be brilliant for the game.

Teams wanting to create a base will need money and that won't grow on people any more. As a result missions will become so much more valuable and they will become flashpoints for massive firefights between teams. Increasing the focus on missions will hopefully also increase the magentism of people towards missions.

No longer will you be able to build a base by merely going off to a town with no people and ransacking it.

Only one way to find out whether it works or not...

Ketts version does have promise, but depending on the prices of props, you may want go start with some cash. Otherwise it could be a very slow start I feel...

All that is needed now is a decent vehicle shop and there could actually be a viable reason to implement persistence!

Prehaps some sort of banking system, where players could go and back their cash?

what an idea! it's almost semi persistence. Go to the bank before logging off to keep your cash. I really like it as a concept. Lose any cash you have on your person when you die but keep anything you have deposited?

Server 1 is really laggy most of the time when full. To the point of dying three seconds after being shot at. Crazy. Is 81 slots the best approach? I say this as your 60 slot server seems less laggy. Again it is just perception

Honestly mate, never experienced lag like that at all in server 1.

I maybe get the odd bit of desync, but never even that much...

If we implement the store feature for base building we should also see a significant increase in fps as well.

On the test we did, my fps jumped around 10, that was on taviana..

Forgot to say, my offer in the mm was just basically a bump for you...:)

not even half way there for MM yet :(

I had it the other night where I was sneaking up on a base and shot a guy, next thing I know he has killed me, 5 seconds later it says I killed him. Wasn't impressed but hey ho.

That would make the game so, so much better imo. Just something to get away from the feeling that you aren't getting anywhere or gaining anything - and all the time you are putting into the game is for nothing. Maybe you would be able to put other items in the bank, such as NVGs, binocs, maybe a gun or two also?

That happens to me quite often also. For example, yesterday I stopped my car to shoot a guy, jumped out shot him, hid behind my car again then about 1-2 seconds later he killed me. The trading is almost as bad as BC2. One thing that happens to me a lot also is people running me over, despite me dodging their car by about 10 feet on my screen.
