Watch Dogs - Ubisoft's Third Person Shooter

i really think the code comment is fake tbh. anyone can post something like that and people will believe it.

anyway this mod how do we know it doesn't contain a hole or malware or something?

You can have a look for yourself in the game files if you want ;)

Re: malware, well, you could say the same about any mod really.

This is 2 files, which appear to do exactly what they say they do, and to be honest, they can't be any more "malware" than the DRM already built into the game :p

Info is already out there, Ubisoft now have to respond. The game was already causing a stir in the pc world before this info was released so they will have to do something to calm the storm now.

im guessing ubi may enable the features in the first patch. so i will wait for awhile.

Im guessing they will lock down the files so that the mod doesn't work..unless enough of a Sh*tstorm is created

it's got to be one or the other, unless they really play the idiots and feign ignorance?!

Anyone else think this may have been intended for an "enhanced" edition DLC? :p

Yea, it seems like the PC only comment is rather this doesn't need to be looked at or changed because it's not implemented on any thing but PC and requires no changes because PCs are the master race.

So kind of the opposite what what people presume.

I have to add not only does this really ramp up the visuals, but it's also made the game feel incredibly smooth. I'm around the 40fps (crossfire disabled) at Ultra but it feels like 60 to me. No stuttering or anything, very fluid indeed. Quite astonishing really.

I really really like the closer camera settings from the 0.7 version of this mod.

There are direct comparisons for your viewing over on the dedicated Guru3d forum, go fill your boots. I've posted some shots up on the hi res screenshots thread of dynamic shadows, bloom and dof working. Go check them out.

Not my pic, but was this possible on vanilla

Comparison of identical screenshots between would be some sort of proof :D, also has anyone noticed the person that has done the "so called mod" is advertising for donations, seriously?.

I know, imagine giving a little bit of spare change to someone who is working hard trying to please the baying mob over at Guru3D, I mean he should just give his spare time to us for free.

Very charitable of you Kedge

Mod has been out for almost a week, has had a relatively high profile for ~48 hours, and nothing at all from Ubisoft, other than that tweet from Tessa?

Oh dear :(

I think Ubi could be in for a huge PR ****storm.........If us geeks actually did something, rather than just keyboard rage in forums ;-)

It doesn't matter what they reply with, anything they say is going to be a crock of ****.

They are never going to come out and say "yes we deowngraded the graphics so that Sony and MS weren't breathing down our necks"

Does this new mod implement real time reflections? That's one of the major downfalls with the graphics in this game in my opinion, they use the same reflection image no matter where you are instead of using real time reflections; although maybe it's better that they didn't use it given how badly the game runs anyway...

This Watch Dogs fiasco is gathering pace, could be very interesting.

A few thoughts on what the hell is going on with Ubisoft and PC gaming from Total Biscuit. Also a vid to showcase the changes for those that are not convinced this new fix does anything to improve the visuals.

Do you mean the ones you see in the building windows Physics? If so, then no not that I can see. All other reflections, car windows etc are working great, but not the building windows so it would seem.
