Watch Dogs - Ubisoft's Third Person Shooter

Really enjoying the game now i can play it properly,my gpu didnt like untill the worse mod 1 was installed. now its running very smooth and even driving its having no stutters or issues, this was a nightmare before the mod. Beautiful game even before it was modded and very addictive and enjoyable.

Not really read the topic but i just got the game and wondering how can i improve driving because driving with kb and mouse is a nightmare its too fast and uncontrollable. Also is there anyway to take acceleration off the mouse so its raw input because it feels so forcefully accelerated to me when using it in the game its horrible and cant play with it like that.

Also which mod is good, the visuals imo are pretty nice as is tho if theres a mod that makes it nicer without effecting the fps which then that would be most welcome.

I tend to get 60fps at the start then when driving it dipped down a bit and at one instance with a lot going on and smoke everywhere it dipped down to 15-20fps then backup once things calmed down. I thought hmm weird, wonder why it did that for. This is running all high with hsbo low and vsync 1 on.

Running it on a Qosmio laptop i7 670m 16gb ram

Medium settings seem to hold 30fps (fraps) and even during fast driving etc doesn't drop

Very happy

This game keeps crashing on me when i click on new game. I have tried repairing the game 4 times, turned off uplay overlay, turned off AA, all settings on medium even though i can run on high, tried windowed mode and it still wont load. Any ideas? I think i may have to uninstall and re download it.

I had a similar problem, a reinstall fixed it :)

Really struggling with the gang 'takedown' side missions. Is stealth the preferred option, or is all guns blazing an option ?

Stealth mainly, use the Spec Ops M1911 and do headshots, finished all the gang hide outs now mainly using that method. Also using jam coms on them helps so they don't get reinforcements.

Ran the worse mod 1.0 with textures and i noticed my comp was using 6gb out of my 8gb ram and gpuz said 1990 to 2015mb of gpu ram. I was like WOAH!!!..

Not even that nice lookin of a game and this is on high with the mod, took the mod off to see if its better without it but not tested yet, tho im sure it was better when i first played it this morning.

Do you think it really needs that much space used, is it a gimick to get ppl to force to get 3gb or more cards and are in bed with nvidia/amd for that reason?

Meh who knows but man ive played some demanding games in my time but they looked better than wd thats for sure and required far less resources.

Edit - driving is a lot smoother when set to medium, i noticed medium was using 1500mb of gpu ram tho forgot to check system ram at the time. Textured looked terrible tho, specially brick work near your apartment.

NEW PATCH RELEASED:

Ubisoft has issued a second official patch for Watch Dogs today, and claims it will improve overall performance. Specifically, it hopes to address the dreaded stuttering issue that a significant numbers of PC users have run into with the game.

The update post states that “we optimized some of the performance issues that were causing some users to experience high amounts of stuttering while playing Watch_Dogs. Instances of stuttering during gameplay should now be reduced, especially when using ‘High Textures.’” If you use ‘Ultra’ textures, however, Ubisoft concedes that you’ll probably still run into stuttering. The replies in the patch thread seem to confirm this.

So that’s a persistent problem with running Watch Dogs at the highest PC graphics settings two months after the game came out. Fine work, Ubisoft.

In addition to maybe fixing the stuttering problem for some people, a bit, the patch notes list these other changes:

• Several fixes to improve NAT type error messages.
• Fix for PCs with multiple network interfaces.
• Fixed an issue at the Poker Table in which the button appeared corrupted after being pulled from the surveillance camera when Aiden is dealing the cards.
• Fixed weapon wheel issue that prevent shotgun selection with mouse.
• Fixed title crashes on loading screen, while Aiden selects to restart last autosave, after previously interacting with the slot machine from Mad Mile.

As far as I know, SLI support is still basically non-existent.

Watch Dogs will presumably update itself through Uplay the next time you try to launch it. I’m not sure whether this patch will mess with any mods like TheWorse or Enhanced Reality.

Just been playing with TheWorseMod v1.0

It's gorgeous but.... It doesn't really "work" for me?..

The DOF is wierd, enabled anything at any distance is a foggy mess and disabled it doesn't look "right".

Rain and water is superb but as soon as the sun goes down it far too dark as wierd as that sounds.

Some days I love this game, others I really feel it's inherently broken :-/
