Weekend Football 15th-16th Jan

Disappointed to only get a point today but 2-2 was a fair result in the end. Thought Liverpool played some good football at times but we should've scored more in the first half when we were on top.

As soon as Agger went off our defence fell to pieces and it was no surprise to see Everton score an early goal followed by a second shortly after. Skrtel and Soto should never be allowed to play together again. They look a complete mess and I'd rather have Kelly alongside Agger than either of them now. Did well to come back in to it and draw level but it's concerning to see how quick our players heads drop when we concede. Desperately need a win to get some confidence.

As for the Spurs vs United game I thought it was awful. Both midfields cancelled each other out although if Lennon had managed to find a teammate with any of the dozen crosses he attempted but failed to make Spurs could've won today. End product my ass :o

Enjoyable game today if not a continuation of a frustrating season for an everton fan. We have done well against the top 5 or 6 this season and can't kill of the little clubs. :(

It's bad enough when 1 of them play with Carra but alongside each other they're a disaster. When on form, they're not bad defenders but they're far too similar to play together. I'd love to see Kelly alongside Agger with Johnson back at RB and Aurelio LB, Dalglish hinted in his post-match press-conference that Wilson might get a look in against Wolves though.

It's terrible isn't it...2-1 up and momentum died again. First half performance was woeful though, no one looked up for up at all.

Spurs bossed Utd. I was totally expecting to lose any second. Crouch should have got one and VDV should have got 2. Only Rooney looked like scoring for us and he had to try from outside the box. Good defending by spurs.

Rafael getting sent off should be appealed and won. Total nonsense.

I'm glad Modric got MoM.

The team could ping balls at him at any point and he never lost possession. With him of the pitch taking responsibility, we played our way out of defence rather than hoofing it long to crouch.

Palacios also impressed me. After a long period of understandable sub-par performances, he took responsibility and had an excellent first touch. I think he was an excellent foil to Modric.

I still have problems with crouch up front. I understand the assist argument but he is the worst player in our team, so we should look to improve in that position. Also, how many extra goals would we have scored with a striker who can finish up there. Pav could maybe have a run out. Defoe is good in a pair but undone think he can play alone up front due to his size.

Modric got MoTM

He played well but he was no where near as good as Vidic last night.

Must have been for the cheeky dive.

Agreed, Palacios had his best game of the season yesterday. Ran around a lot, kept possession and drove forward when given the chance. It's a shame neither him nor Modric can shoot for toffee though. :)

I was surprised that he came off for Defoe. VdV looked like he was carrying an injury and wasn't really doing it. I was surprised that he didn't get taken off instead of Palacios.

I hate watching us play without cahill, he always helps to keep the momentum going and never gives up. :(

Torres for me has to get the hell out the premiership and go back to spain. His first season and a half there are few players I'd rather have watched. I was surprised in his first season how good he was because I didn't think his body could take the pounding he would get in the EPL.

I don't think it can, it's just taken time and an accumulation of being too important to rest. He looks flogged. He looks weak and the injuries will just keep coming.

He needs a move to save his career and it shouldn't be to one in the EPL.

If he stays he is just turning into the new owen, flogged until he falls apart.

^^^ LOL

Torres is your best player so it really says something about Liverpool.

If Liverpool had Gerard the rapist and Carrigher yesterday, they would have won, no doubt. But if Everton had Cahill....
