Weekend football - 1st-3rd November **Spoilers**

Ok maybe totally screwed was a bit of an exaggeration.

I've been looking at the fixtures for all the teams around us and it all seems pretty even - West Brom's next 3 games are going to be pretty tricky.

Even so, it would be nice to have the points to get us out of the danger zone.

In fairness a Liverpool loss WAS coming. They may have had a great start in terms of points, but in terms of performances they have been very lucky and in many games can pinpoint the exact moments where they got good fortune.

That's why the bookies never had them higher than 3rd favourites when they were 5 points clear.

Of course it was coming, just like many of the top teams will lose games this year. Think the champions this year will have a lower points total than the last few years.

After absolutely destroying Spurs for 65 minutes, including hitting the bar 3 times, it was not a game i expected to draw nevermind lose. The last time we lost was to your lot away in the league, so hopefully we bounce back with another long run.

Our performances may not have been great but we certainly weren't lucky.

Winning games late on and being lucky are completely different things. Over the course of the 90 minutes of all of those games we were the better side and fully deserved to win (in fact we were unlucky vs Sunderland if anything, had a clear pen not given).

As for winning the league. The only prediction i've made or will make is that we're going to be a lot closer than we've been.

you were very very poor against sunderland, dont make me laugh with your call for a penalty. i lost count of the times you passed it out of play. that game had 0-0 written all over it.

It was a clear penalty, Chimbonda's barged Benayoun over without getting close to the ball

I agree we were poor but that doesn't mean we weren't the better side or didn't deserved to win the game. We had 60% possesion, 16 attempts on goal compared to your 7 and 8 corners to your 1.

We deserved to win the game because we took more chances than you did, simple as that.

Do you really think you can win the league?

Speaking as a liverpool supporter, no..I dont think we can win the league this year. I wish I did, but I think we are still slightly short in depth. I do think we will come closer this year than we've done in the past, but if I had to select a team today, I would say it will be Chelsea. They have looked virtually unstoppable so far this season, and dont even look like they have kicked into gear yet. 11 games gone, and they already have a massive +23 goal difference...more than twice the goal difference of anyone else, and if you average it out its 2 goals more than their opponents per game.

In fact, if Liverpool dont manage to keep up, I can see Chelsea running away with the league and it being quite a dull finish to the season.

it wasnt a penalty, not even close.

you didnt come close to scoring until the goal, which was a fortunate long range effort. you failed time and time again to get past our defenders. you were woeful that day i cant believe the run you've been on since then to be honest, you must have improved massively.

Like i said, i agree that we didn't play well but we were the better side and weren't lucky to win the game. Take the Liverpool - Spurs game from Saturday, we were the better side but Spurs weren't lucky and deserved to win because they took more chances than we did. Imo you're only lucky to win a game when the officials have made the wrong decision which has directly changed the result.

I disagree about the penalty and we did come close to scoring before our goal, Keane's goal line clearance from Torres' shot ;)

we deserved a draw from that game. nothing you say will convince me otherwise.

On what basis did you deserve anything? We scored and you didn't. With the exception of when officials effect the game, you get exactly what you deserve, just like we got what we deserved vs Spurs. We were the better side by a mile for the majority of the game but didn't take our chances and Spurs did.
