Weekend football - 1st-3rd November **Spoilers**

So this month in the league Arsenal have Man Utd, Chelsea, Aston Villa and Man City. This could be painful.

Frank - I can't be the only person here who wishes you would watch the matches live rather than rely on BBC Five Live's commentary. You know how. :) Please watch the matches, form your own opinions on what you see rather than the commentator's own opinions.

With regards to the match, I don't know what's up with our defence, they all seem rather clumsy at the minute, the Ferdinand incident was a penalty, losing his balance or not he made sure he was going to be taking the Hull player with him. I'm just surprised that a referee can award a penalty without booking the offender. Berbatov had a brilliant game, he is really starting to link well with the players around him. I have a funny feeling Rooney's good spell is now over, Tevez looked half arsed when he came on, so glad Carrick is now back in the fold.

All in all a good weekend of results, didn't see anything other than a Chelsea win at home against Sunderland, although I don't think I've ever seen 5 goals in a game that were scored in such a boring fashion. Good on the Spurs! Had an inkling that they would get something out of the game, Liverpool fans shouldn't despair though, still early days. Arsenal, the week I put Van Persie in my FF team and the muppet gets himself sent off and rightly so, he can be such a damn child, Wenger cannot defend that behaviour.

Gary Neville has a wicked throw on him, it's just been a while since I've actually seen it put to use as he's been injured a lot recently. Actually thinking about how Stoke scored yesterday, reminds me of the stat from last season that Man Utd conceded most headers in the league last year, doesn't look like ending any time soon, for such a perfect partnership in central defence, we concede far too many headers from set pieces.

All this talk doesn't matter as I would say its pretty clear Chelsea are going to win the league if not champs league as well if they can keep the starting 11 fit!

just LOL

After 10/11 games gone and two other teams potentially within 2 points of Chelsea, nothing is clear at all (before considering several other teams pretty close behind)

Chelsea may well win - but its not clear right now that they will definitely win

.

No I cant watch them actually - Im currently bed ridden after a serious back injury (so I cant go to the pub) and my broadband isnt good enough for the questionable feeds, even if there was a feed good enough to not have multiple balls on show all the time, and Im not allowed to install a satellite dish. So please dont try and tell me what I am and am not able to do :)

Apart from that I still believe whether its by watching or listening to the match, my comments are as valid as anyone else's :)

edit - and then you go on to say exactly simillar things to what I have been saying about our defence.....I was obviously sooooooo wrong

I dont think Rooney played that badly - he had one goal disallowed for offside, and two brilliant saves from the Hull goalie - once he gets his 100th league goal I think he will go on another run of scoring every game

At the moment, I can only see us getting something out of the City game in that run of games. And it could be demolotion by Chelsea and Utd.

Think I'm going to hide in bed on those days :(

What a difference a week makes! This time last week, 2 points and prospect of doubling that tally not very good, to right now 9 points and looking healthier. To take 4 points off Arsenal and Liverpool is nothing short of incredulous.

Sorry mate, didn't know you were bed ridden or didn't have broadband quick enough for a live feed. I was just making a suggestion is all, because the radio can be misleading and not give you the full picture. Especially if that eejit Alan Green is doing the commentary.

Funny thing with that is stoke have taken 4 points off 3 of the top four and hull have only taken 3 points. I understand why hull get all the plaudits though.

Also they have scored 2 penalties and fullers goal against villa was quality.

You could also argue that most of hulls goals come from set peices.

I was only trying to indicate that arsenal wouldnt be able to keep a clean sheet (think it was friday on this thread)

I'm pretty sure that came off a Rory throw 20 minutes earlier :p

no problem - still thought it funny that you made similar team comments to what I said listening to the radio feed though :D

Arsenal should beat Stoke, comfortably but then again the way they have been at this season who knows.
Go on Rory Delap cause that Arsenal back line havoc with blistering long throws.
Prediction:

Stoke 3-2Arsenal (Rory Delap hat-trick)

Rory ya let me down, where was the hat-trick, I'm never having a bet on Rory scoring a hat-trick again. :D

Nah I had a feeling he'd cause the Gunner's back line havoc, as I said yesterday morning. The thing is it's like having constant set pieces coming your way and Arsenal's back line is struggling at the moment. Then again any back line would struggle with calamity Silvestre at the back. He's in the same mould as the legendary Titus Bramble's and Djimi Traore's of this world, the problem is there just too good for the premiership :D

chelseas 3rd goal was blatantly offside and before that joe cole body dropped chimbonda and got away with it. dont think the result would have been much different had it been disallowed like, its just disapointing. you need every break you can get at chelsea and we got none.

We was very lucky to get a point at Derby.

Strange ending to the game however and it was the same Ref that gave the goal that never was for Reading v Watford!
