Other players were scoring those goals (and more of them) last season though. Signing a £30m striker and scoring far less goals than you did before doesn't seem like an improvement to me.
Keane was in and out every other week unless Torres or Gerrard where injured, and even dropped in the middle of a scoring run - pure scapegoat imo
That's a load of rubbish. He more or less started every game up untill Decemeber and was simply not doing enough to earn his place in the side. He had a strike rate as bad as Voronin's last season and most of Voronins appearances were as a sub. People didn't think he was a scapegoat though.
