This line is so good you must have stolen it.
I reckon he stole it from me because I've been saying that for years.

It's not like Sir Alex has ever blown a big lead with a vastly superior budget and team is it?
Couldn't disagree with you more. He hasn't made a lot, you could count his great buys on one hand, Torres, Mascherano, Alonso and Reina. As for not having the money to buy a good player straight away, also nonsense. Instead of buying one good expensive player he bought 2 or 3 very average players who were only sold on a season later at almost zero profit, or in some cases, loss. Some of Benitez' signings really make me question the ability of his scouts or his perception of what good play is (something which his tactical choices further strengthen my beliefs). He's also made a lot of great buys too and missed out on some incredible players through no fault of his own. People go on about the amount of money he's spent but that's down to a high turn around of players because we couldn't afford to go out and buy a Torres, for example, straight away.
I respect Maureen, but wouldnt want him at Man Utd - ONeil I would take in a flash (and would have a few years ago before the AV appointment when Fergie first mentioned stepping down)
Not having a go but who do you think is a good manager then? It seems most Man U fans think Ferguson is the only decent manager in the world.
BaZ87 said:No, Loki waffles on a lot when it comes to Benitez. He used to go on about how he had no track record of winning titles let alone breaking the dominance of a couple of sides like Fergie had done in Scotland when he took Aberdeen to the title ahead of Celtic and Rangers.
Nope, he hasnt, almost the entire first team squad was injured for the last 2 months of the 97-98 campaign.
Benitez has had two players injured long term this season, meanwhile we have had long term injuries to both "first choice" right full backs, the reserve right full back, both center backs, Carrck with a broken ankle, we havent had Hargreaves all season, Anderson has been out for nearly 2 months, Ronaldo didnt play for the first........4 weeks of the season, Rooney has been out for 2 months or there about, Evra has been out, his replacement injured, Nani has been out.......
Benitez has had such a hard time of it this season hasnt he? he has had to compete against a decimated united side, a chelsea side hat has been ravaged by injuries and an Arsenal side that couldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding, and he has STILL by his own hand. messed it up.
At one point only 6-8 weeks ago we has 12 first squad players out injured. Ronaldo didn't play for the first 4 weeks, then he was sent off and missed a further 3. Our injury problems this season have been so bad that we've had Rafael and Evans play over 20 games each, Fletcher has been a starter more often than not (and has trebled his appearances from last season) and we're still in all competitions.
Whoopeedo! We have had the Yak out for 90% of the season and look where we are. We should have won against chelsea, arsenal and liverpool. With the Yak we would be top of the league 9 points clear by now.
To be fair Yakubu takes more away from Everton than he gives, so him being injured is a blessing in disguise.
Would that be the same Madrid that won the Champions League in 2000 and 2002 as well as La Liga in 2001 and 2003?His record isn't as good as you suggest Baz, so hardly waffle. He inherited a very good side from Hector Cuper when both Barca and Madrid were in transition.

Well you've contradicted yourself, RVP's a certain starter, without question, so you can't have Eduardo and Ade, so thats only 4 players missing. Arshavin, 15million squid , and Nasri 13mil, are clearly first team material, both better than Walcott, Rosicky might play better but neither of those are certain starters either tbh, which leaves Ade, who doesn't remotely deserve to start and has played most of the season and been utter turd, we've actually been better since he was injured, shockingly.
Basically leaving Fabregas who would be a huge loss to any team in the world, however, if we can't cope with only one real injury, we deserve to be where we are.
I guess I am not really for or against him, I think its undoubted that he has improved us in the last few years, but the question now is whether he can take us that last few steps. If he can, fine. If not then he needs replacing.
