Weekend Football *Spoilers* inc Carling Cup Final 28/2 - 1/3

I know more people that support Man United and Liverpool in town than people that support Wigan.

We have discussed this numerous times bigboy

The fact that Wigan haven't had a football team for that long coupled with the fact that its a big Rugby town then add the fact that Liverpool and Manchester aint that far away and you get what it is.

Why would that really honestly bother anyone apart from giving them a little giggle.
My wife now supports Man U because I do, she knows **** all about them other than the players names and which ones who play currently are any good, It gives her pleasure and entertainment, why would anybody dislike her for that?

the point I was trying to make was that your GF though supporting Man U, is not giving me grief

It's when they are stood in the pub mouthing off at me saying haha your down the bottom of the league ! That I get frustrated

Note to everyone: I'm enjoying the discussion so can we keep it friendly?:)

Your lack of educating the fairer sex is dissapointing :/

My friend thought Torres was a girl ( he's not a football fan ) and asked me why a girl was playing with men ;)

He's half a girl & half a boy,
Torres...Torres!
He looks just like a transvestite,
Torres...Torres!
He loves the ****
He sells his arse on albert dock!
Fernandos body...Britney Spears' head!!

I don't like the E Drama about not supporting your local team.

I think it's stupid, Almost all football clubs have fans all over the country.
It's such a silly argument.

Enjoy it for what it is, I'd rather that than they didnt take an interest at all in football.

I work with a liverpool supporter called Shane, he has been to anfield once, he barely knows the rules of football let alone the history of Liverpool and he gets into some right stupid "black is white" arguments with me about football.
Do I dislike him for it?
No?

I dislike him because he is a lazy fat ****, but that wasnt the question.

That who didn't take an interest in football ? Women ?
They have their own league as well, and there are a few female officials... whatever next

Quick question, slightly off topic but I'd rather post it here than make a new thread.

Can anyone recommend a decent online betting site where I can make accumulator bets, I think I'd like to start putting a few £'s on some results every week but I have no idea which sites offer decent rates and basically, which are the easiest and most practical to use.

Cars? Trains!? TELEVISION?!? My god, what are these bizarre modern inventions you speak of? People should only follow clubs that they can reach within one day's hike, and away support should consist entirely of those rich enough to afford horse-drawn carriages. HOW DARE PEOPLE MOVE AWAY FROM THEIR PLACE OF BIRTH.

Lets not de-rail the thread because of a few morons.

So, Anderson was awesome ;).....

I would have given him Man of the Match, his passing was incredible, his pace, interceptions and vision were amazing and he even got a shot on target and took a great penalty.
Not bad for his first match back in 2 months (not including the 45mins in the resrerves the other night).

I know who the worst players were, Gibson (as I said, a world of difference between an awful Derby side and Spurs) and Welbeck (he really is a lazy ****ing ******* and his performance for a final was a disgrace). O'Shea was also poor. And Baz completely jonered Evra (thanks for that :p).

Ferdinand, Anderson, Foster, Ronaldo and Vidic were all very good for us, Jenas, Lennon and Assou-Ekotto for them were the players who shone for me.

to add it into the mix, I really don't like the I'm a better fan than you because I go to all the games etc

We've covered this before, due to work, money, location etc

It wasn't made in regards to going to the games, my point was that win, lose or draw, or even when we're not playing I'm in here giving opinions and conversing with the fine folk of Sports Arena, I'm a fan of football who loves my club. He comes in here with "Support your local team" and absolutely nothing else.

I know most people can't afford to go to games, hell, I've only been to one this season and had to sell my CC final ticket last Tuesday because of cost.

Gibson looked just a bit overwhelmed in my opinion, slightly out of his depth but still looked alright on the ball, he was average.

Welbeck looks really out of his depth, he has a long way to go before he can even be considered a sub in my opinion, he would do well to go out on loan for a long while.

O'shea has been poor for a fair few games, he's not setting the world alight, he's a squad player. Who else were we going to play though ?...

His performances at fullback this year have been shocking, considering you couldnt tell him apart from a first choice left back when he started playing in the first team, he has been embarrassing.

I've got a feeling if he puts in too many more showings like yesterday he will be shipped out as he is going backwards at an astonishing rate.

Best pic I can find so far of my banner at Wembley lol.

The blue one - it reads: "Glory Glory Begins Here..."

i think some people only think its problem if you live in the middle of nowhere and only support the team because they win everything

if you support the team win or lose then people probably wont look down on you that much

He has one passing power - hard. The amount of times he fizzed passes beyond everyone was ridiculous, then he would stand off and just watch players every time one approached. He also has the turning circle of a juggernaut and the speed of a snail. Absolutely awful he was, even the commentators were commenting on how poor he was.
We're talking about a guy who has had one decent performance against a side rooted near the bottom of the Championship, he's played around 5 high-profile televised games now and he's stunk the place out in 4 of them, and that's not including the many, many reserve matches he's totally sucked ass in on MUTV.

Welbeck is lightweight, lazy, won't/can't pass, I just don't see what some people are commenting about him being potentially this good/that good. He was terrible yesterday, the only surprise was that Ferguson didn't sub him in the first half.

I like O'Shea and have posted as much on here many times over the years, but he cannot play over on the right, he struggles, but at least he gives you heart and effort in every game, but there were options at RB, Fletcher could have played, Fabio could have played, Eckersley could have played there. All of them are more fleet of foot than Sheasy. Yesterday he was poor, but let us not forget he played quite a big part in the clean sheet run.
