Weekend Football Thread. 7-9 *spoilers*

Rosicky on for Eduardo.

Eduardo's had a funny one. Sort of caused two own goals, and was wearing a dedication under his shirt. Didn't really do it properly.

Fantastic turn by RvP, Cesc blasts over.

I'm not trying to rain on Arsenal's parade here but they won't be able to keep this up for the remainder of the season, it's not always a good thing hitting top form at this stage of the year and of course injuries will and always do hit Arsenal. /jinx

Fair point, we usually hit a wall around Christmas time. Hope this year is different. Our injury list already looks pretty long.

I don't buy into the argument that we shouldn't be hitting top form now. We should be, we should be winning every single game and at the moment we are, absolutely all conquering, despite a slip up to Alkmaar a few weeks ago, we've been absolutely on fire. What we need to learn to do is play rubbish and still win, grinding out those ugly 1-0's that United and Chelsea seem to manage. I don't think we will win the league this year but we'll certain come close, and I think that despite not winning the league we will definitely pick up silverware somewhere.

We already have 9 First team squad members out, maybe 10 if Diaby is out.

we are not the only team in top form chelsea are too

Chelsea have played 6 top half teams I believe, Man U I think have played 7, we've played 3 and lost 2.

We should be mopping up these teams pretty easily. Spurs always bottle it against us at home in general, West Ham and Fulham are both midtable teams in reality and both caused us trouble. We've only got 2 bottom half teams to go, we'll really have to see where we end up when the teams we've played evens out a bit. We've basically played all of the big conceders now except Hull, who we hardly shone against last year. The other bottom half team we're against is Bolton, crap at the moment but if theres a team they'll think they can beat its us.

We played well today again, but well, think it was mad not to rest Fabregas/RVP more, likewise a centre back, we're just playing them over and over and over which is asking for trouble. Fabregas had a full Confed Cup to play aswell as Spain games and has probably played more than anyone with very little in the way of a break. He was again superb today with 2 fantastic over the top balls that were called offside but weren't. Great take for his goal.

Not sure if he gets an assist today for the corner/own goal, even without it its now what, 20 games, 12 goals, 14 (maybe 15) assists in all comps this year. He also made a lot of interceptions, tackles and played us out of defence multiple times today.

RVP I thought, as last week, a lot of loose passes, didn't quite look right, think he's looking tired as well, we've never really played him this often before. He still got his goals last week but they were scrappy goals and thats what I'd say he's looked like scrappy for a week now.

Eduardo needs a run of games to get some confidence back as his finishing, which previously was pretty much the best we'd seen at Arsenal ever, has been iffy the past few weeks, still gets in all the right places and makes the right runs. On form he'd have scored 4-5 in the past 3 games.

Hmm, thought we played pretty crap today but to come out of it 4-1 up is not to be sneezed at. I was disappointed with both Ramsey and Eduardo, was hoping for more from them especially "clinical" Eduardo who has been anything but.

Providing we keep this up against the teams we usually capitulate against the odd loss against a top team wont dent our chances too much this season judging by how everyone is playing. Considering our 2 losses were games we deserved something from im pretty hopeful we can sustain a proper challenge this year. The squad looks pretty deep apart from centre backs.

On a side point, I do hope that Darren Bents dive (which it looked like to me) is all over the newspapers tomorrow. Oh sorry English players don't dive!

Getting fed up of Eduardo's dive being mentioned in every game he plays in, including todays.
