This is all a bit bizarre, they're laughing about Rooney trying to lash out at the defender and subsequently ending the poor guys game AND getting a wrongful penalty 'cos he fell over, yet they'll all act disgraced and disgusted when Eduardo goes down easy. What's wrong here?

Really strange penalty in the first half, not quite sure why it was given, Rooney seemed to tackle the defender.

Good second goal by Defoe, what more does he have to do to start ?

Heskey is awful, and England have looked very average against such a poor side. England "should" be putting 5 or 6 past these easily.

To start in this system Defoe has to learn to hold the ball up. I'm not saying that he should't play; he's England's second best forward behind Rooney. But Capello's system is clearly to have a big man and three players off him, which Defoe can't fit into.

I'm not sure what Heskey's done wrong aside from missing one header.

Defoe can hold the ball up. It's one thing that he has improved on in the last year or two and what has made him the better striker he is today.

No idea why anyone is saying Rooney dived, it was clearly a foul by him on the other player.

Defoe can hold the ball up. It's one thing that he has improved on in the last year or two and what has made him the better striker he is today.

He doesn't do it in the same way as a big man though; he doesn't provide the option of going aerial, only into feet.

Yeah, good point. Which is why I think Cole/Defoe should start. There's your big man/small man with good linkup play.

This. Was never a penality, but it has absolutely NOTHING to do with Eduardo's 2 game ban.
