This was uncalled for, surely?

Why is it uncalled for, someone maliciously stamped ON HIS FACE, as he said, centimetre's from his eye, what exactly would have happened had a stud pushed down on his eye. It was a really disgusting challenge and really looked without question on purpose. As said his direction and momentum were all taking him one way and he moved his leg in a non natural direction and really obviously put his foot through the stamp.

Why is it uncalled for to make a very well worded statement about it? Should he simply never have mentioned being assaulted on the pitch, do you not think reporters would ask him about it.

Please explain whats wrong with him talking about what happened?

He really should get a long ban for it, frankly he seemed without question to have it in for his old team mates and the fans, the celebration was clearly planed and that stamp was simply disgraceful.

Honestly I really can't think of another stamp/attack that bad since Keano's revenge leg breaking. Theres been poor tackles, the tackle on Eduardo was terrible but was mistimed, completely unintentional and there was no hint of revenge or hatred between the players.

If he doesn't get at the very least, a standard red card ban applied by the FA its a joke, but realistically he should get an extended ban of several games.

That's one incidence. I could just as easily point the the Ferdinand incident where Ferdinand had hold of Crouch yet a free-kick went against Crouch.

But trust me, overall he gets an incredibly hard time from officials. I can honestly say that I can't recall another player getting so many bad decisions go against him as Crouch gets.

Reminds me a lot of Dion Dublin

To make it public just screams out wanting to stir it up. You can make a complaint without making a hoohar out of it purely to make a villain out of Adebayor.

Now before my head explodes, could you just give me some more info on this point? Which Keano and when?

Berbatov and Giggs movement was outstanding I thought.
.

We must have been watching a different game, Berbatov made two passes that actually led to something productive, both were to wide right with his back to goal, both went to fletcher, and that was it from him.
Everything else was either running into traffic, playing the ball into no mans land or simply not bothering to get after the ball when its played in front of him.

He did so well today, he managed to be rated a whole 6 by sky sports.
Along with the other distinctly average performances by the usual suspects of Scholes, O'shea and a returning to fitness and first team football Ferdinand.

Funny that.

Palacios really disappointed me today, I expected a lot from him but 2 really bad challenges in the first 20 mins, he was lucky to not get a yellow for the first but i think both yellow might have been harsh. Aster that he was out of the game though.

The Ferdinand one that went against him, he had his arm around Ferdinand aswell, it was a 50/50 issue with both players fouling, but as others have said Crouch fouls constantly, wins headers quite often but the direction they go is random. Was far to happy to get the ball turn and shoot, despite being 25-35yards out, even a well placed shot from that distance is a fairly easy save, as, shockingly, they all were. His link up play with Defoe was non existant, he shouldn't have started, get a decent partnership as Keane/Defoe was, you don't break it unless someone actually needs a rest/isn't available, definately don't change it up for the biggest game so far.

After 20 mins of Crouch's long range shots he did nothing useful for the rest of the game, yeah a couple headers won, but invariably he misses most of his headed chances, he gets more chances than most other strikers with his head, because people don't think its a good idea to knock 40 crosses in a game for Defoe to try to win headers from, while when Crouch is on, people almost only knock crosses to him(rightly or wrongly).

Palacios, well, if they were going to switch him at half time anyway because he's unsafe to leave out on a yellow, they may aswell have put Jenas on the second he actually got the yellow card, maybe would have stopped Utd getting a foothold into the game before halftime.

Utd did very well to comeback into it and score more with 10 men, if Spurs season depends on Palacios getting yellow cards or not, its going to be a very unpredictable season and be down to ref's warning him or brandishing cards.

The Hangeland one surely? (awaits Aeroplane gag...)

I hope that's not what he is referring to because no leg was actually broken in that incident. I don't know what to think really, apparently Scholes is our best defensive midfielder and Rooney should be on the left wing...

yes, a player who has a prior grudge who was looking for a way to hurt the player all through the game and carried out, lets be honest, a full on attack during a game. THe Keano one was the worst I've ever seen based on the intent, Adebayor's was a really vicious attack due to just how dangerous it was, considering there appeared to be intent, as shown by his attitude and the fact he wanted to wind up the fans when he scored. It seemed the whole time he wanted revenge and has a grudge on the whole team, which again adds up to intent.

But stamping on a guys face is just, dispicable, he said it, I said it, what would have happened if his foot was 1 centimetre to the right, he could have lost his eye.

I'm not saying he went into the game planning to stamp on RVP's face, I'm saying he wanted revenge in the game, has anger towards the club as a whole including the players and saw an opportunity to do something while it might appear an accident and took full advantage.

The assessment I gave of crouch when liverpool signed him still stands, you force him to come deep and he is no threat what so ever, he is only a threat when is all arms and legs in the box and the ball is liable to bounce off his randomly flailing extremities into the goal.

Sometimes, Its like he has no direct control of his body at all.

Greatest respect mate but it's a waste of time debating Utd with you and that Muppet Nickg. The way I look at it the runs you make without the ball can be just as deadly for what you do with the ball for the space they create. I think his passing and movement has been excellent this season.

I really can't see how a team that has finished in the top 4 for 15 years or so carries so many players year in year out.

I suspect we will never agree on much so as I say, waste of time debating it really

berb was class today i thought it was a mistake to take him off after how he's been playing though ferguson obviously knew better than me (surprising i know). I also thought scholes had his best game in ages for us though.

Pretty good summary of Crouch, I think he's the least graceful player I've ever seen.

Still manages the spectacular sometimes to be fair to him though.

That is a great assessment :D

At the time I was annoyed because Berb had been playing better, but it was the right decision and the sacrifice had to be made for the team (and Scholes being a fool)

I don't think I appreciated it enough at the time but Fletcher's pass the the third was magnificent, he really is on fire at the moment.

Interesting top 10 in the Actim Index:

1 Aaron Lennon Tottenham 115
2 Emmanuel Adebayor Man City 106
3 Glen Johnson Liverpool 99
4 Didier Drogba Chelsea 95
5 Robbie Keane Tottenham 93
6 Jermain Defoe Tottenham 90
7 Nicolas Anelka Chelsea 87
8 Fernando Torres Liverpool 86
9 Ashley Cole Chelsea 83
10 Wayne Rooney Man Utd 81

Its scary how badly we miss Modric, not looking forward to Chelski next Sunday. Although, with a full weeks break for all, and Chelski having to play in Europe midweek hopefully we will put up a better fight.

Still, 12 points from 15 is better than I was expecting before the season, even 12 from 18 I wouldn't be too down heartened with, mainly because 3 of the top 4 have been played, and aside from Chelski, no-one else is really pulling away....City could change that though.
