Weekend Football Thread. *spoilers* 11-14

That's awful about that steward. Hopefully Arsenal have to play a few games behind closed doors until their fans can learn to control themselves.

Im not one for defending violence from the stands but there isn't a set of away fans in the country that wouldn't have done exactly the same in that situation unfortunately. This doesn't excuse what they did but in my opinion the blame lies completely on Adebayors shoulders.

The Adebayor celebration is what I can picture Tevez doing in front of Ferguson if he plays and scores next weekend at Old Trafford. I hope he gets abuse the whole match from the fans for the crap that has come out of his mouth since May.

I can't wait to see Ronaldo score against Man Utd....

Wonder what will happen? I reckon he probably won't milk it like

He wouldn't at all I don't think. I reckon he wouldn't even celebrate, there was no real bad blood between anyone during the transfer. When he scored two years ago against Sporting in Portugal he didn't celebrate when he scored.

Did anyone see Lampard at Stoke trying to shake a fans hand who was giving him stick??

Also does any1 know off hand whats the most injury time seeing at a game, In the first half there was 8 minutes of injury time (justified as there were injuries and what not)?

Cant believe Match of the Day didnt show Delaps throw in that hit the chelsea player who was standing in front of it who in turn got a yellow, was quite amusing.

The ball is so far gone when Ade eventually stamps on Fab's leg, that looks just as intentional as the RvP one in my eyes. I wonder what happened between Ade and the players for him to want to be so filthy and try and injure Arsenal's best players :/

Oh what a load of toss.

Moyes ain't going to be happy about the second half at all, that was poor.

Pretty much the same start as last year. Although this year we will be lucky to get 10th. A bottom of the table struggle for us again this year, as normal when we have to concentrate on europe as well with our small squad.

I love the way all those Arsenal fans are acting as if they're trying to get on the pitch after Adebayor and are seemingly being held back by nobody :p

I seem to recall United supporters surging forward at Charlton before they got relegated and a steward there had his leg broken in the melee. Bit more serious than a bump on the head from an 'unidentified flying object'. Their fans oddly never faced any kind of sanction for their behaviour though. Strange that ;)

I dunno, the Arsenal fans were happy to dish it out to him when he was playing for them and now he was playing against them and then they get all upset when he gets it right up them? If you give it out your fair game I reckon.

Also they didn't have many complaints when Henry did a similar thing to Spurs supporters a few years back. Typical of the double standards Arsenal are becoming known for.

Seriously davestar ? When exactly did Henry play for Spurs, then moaned about wanting more money, then getting it only to leave the next season when Arsenal came in and paid him double the money ? Oh wait, that didn't happen, so not quite the same.
Now had Sol Campbell done that, I can understand the spurs fans being upset.
As for Adebayor, reckless challenges all over the place which should've seen him get red and not even be able to score his goal, and then sprinting length of the pitch to rub Arsenal fans faces in it, he's a tool, blunt and simple ! In fact, he makes Ashley Cole look like a saint in the eyes of Arsenal fans

I have to add something though as it's been bothering me.

All game Adebayor was jeered, booed, and taunted by the Arsenal fans.

And when he scores and decides to give some back, all of a sudden it becomes a problem. Nobody heard of tasting their own medicine?

I don't condone what Adebayor did because he should have known what would come of it. But at the same time, i'm surprised Arsenal aren't in trouble for not controlling their fans - after all, if it weren't for their actions, he wouldn't have gone down that end of the pitch to celebrate?
