Upon a further investigation I reckon that RVP could have been given a yellow. How the referee even missed the blatant studding in the face is beyond me. And whoever says that games shouldn't be reviewed and decisions made based on those reviews is an idiot. If he caught RVP any further across he could've lost an eye. If he caught him any further up he could've had a bad knock to the temple which could've led to internal bleeding or even a blood clot in the brain. Also, the fact that Adebayor was throwing in tackles left, right and centre the entire match but remained unpunished until the celebration was an absolute disgrace. Some referees need to open their eyes, and some linesman need to do their job better as well. If this happened in rugby then it would be reviewed and a ban would be issued. But then that's a completely different sport where the players actually respect the referee.
(that's if van Persie didn't take a fake blood capsule onto the field to fake the whole incident).
Upon further investigation? I thought you had seen the incident plenty of times yesterday... typical Arsenal fans arguing black is white when they haven't even studied the incident in question.
Arsene Wenger was saying just a few weeks ago that games shouldn't be reviewed afterwards as it would result in dozens of disciplinary matters to go through every week and probably most Arsenal players being suspended for their various antics. So by your reasoning Arsene Wenger is an idiot?
Could've lost an eye, could have got a blood clot... he could get hit by a bus as well... but none of those things happened. Some people need to get a sense of reality, it's a tap in the face and a little cut (that's if van Persie didn't take a fake blood capsule onto the field to fake the whole incident).
lol that was actually funnyAfter seeing it again, I think RVP should never play football again for that awful tackle on Ade and Ade should be knighted for stamping on RVP face.
lol that was actually funny
It wasn't that little actually. It was a fair size, and it looked quite deep. How about I come over to your house and stamp on your face with a football boot to see how it feels, although it won't be the same because I'm not over six foot and I don't weigh nearly as much as Adebayor. Upon further investigation of RVP's tackle is what I meant to say, he should have received a yellow for the slide as it was a bit careless, but if you look at the footage he never went studs up his feet were always pointing down even though it was a messy challenge. Wenger is no idiot, but as you can see we are getting unfairly treated in the recent weeks since Eduardo's dive. We were turned down numerous penalty shouts in the Utd game and we were turned down a penalty today. Thanks to Eduardo we have been branded cheaters and liars which is not and has never been the case with Arsenal.
As for you saying that RVP could also get hit by a bus, well that's nonsense you fool. Is that even related to the incident or the match? no.
Please cut out the personal attacks. I referred to the bus to suggest you should deal with what actually happened rather than speculatory outcomes.
I dare say you doing that would look worse on my face because you would be doing it deliberately instead of accidentally and I'm slightly better-looking than van Persie too. Besides i've experienced someone really trying to kick me in football so I know the difference between that and being grazed accidentally. It didn't seem that deep a cut given he continued in the game without any bandages.
I wouldn't say Arsenal are thought of as cheats and liars by others (despite the recent cheating incident) more just quite soft - I mean, i'm sure other players have had worse knocks than this over the weekend and not sought to whinge and create a witch-hunt against the opposition player for it.
The FA are apparently to look into it. Hopefully a longer ban will ensue as the ref gave nothing during the game itself. I'm honestly verging on supporting UTD in next week's derby..
