Weekend Football Thread. *spoilers* 18-22

Watching MOTD2 has reminded me of a point I wanted to make earlier, and that is Park is a waste of space. A complete non existent performance today, Valencia or Nani should have started ahead of him. And as long as Fletcher is putting in these performances he should keep his first team place ahead of Carrick. Giggs has been sublime this season, he's rolling back the years even more than he has done before.

totally agree - the problem is that you can gaurantee that at Stoke Fletcher will be invisible, he does have a tendency to sit on his laurels for a few matcher after playing a blinder like yesterday

Was impressed with Anderson, he was breaking up a lot of play (although he was at fault for not tracking Barry for the 1st goal)

Sometimes Park can play very well, its just a pity yesterday wasnt one of those days - handy sub to have but he isnt a starter and he did precious little tracking back (which is usually what he is good at)

Giggs , Rooney.Fletcher (and Evra to a lesser extent) where all immense

I thought Chelsea were superb yesterday and although winning 3-0 and showed their true class, I felt that they were still a gear or two behind their best. God knows they would have destroyed us by even bigger margin otherwise. I wasn't expecting too much from the game, but i thought Spurs could have made a better effort nd not just the opening 15 minutes.

As for Spurs, when are they going to learn that when a penalty decision doesn't go their way, not to dwell on it and get back to the job the are paid to do. Not for the first time, they lost the game after an incident that made them loose their concentration.

Can someone tell me why Keane is in the side at the moment. Was their some kind of agreement in his contract when he re-signed? I would really like to know what the deal is here.... There was no place for him at Liverpool, and I don't see it any different at Spurs. What is he? A forward out of form or out of place. or a poor midfielder?? I'm lost with this one.

King.. Love the guy but may be it's time for him to hang his boots because he is taking the place of someone who could play consistently. Not saying we should sell him but I don't see any benefit of him playing the odd game or two, then get injured... A godd defense is a consistant defence.

After watching the highlights last night I don't think hughes can be too upset. Man United were clearly the better team and, especially in the second half, were taking city apart. Added time is a minimum i thought and the ref had to add on time for their goal, celeberation e.t.c. as well as a sub. usually there will be no events in added time but this time there were.

What Foster and Ferdinand were thinking for the 1st and 3rd goals I will never know!

I have no idea what Foster was thinking for the third goal neither, very poor goalkeeping. After all the hype about him, this long run in the first team shows he's just as good as the other English keepers around at the mo.

I hope King plays on for many years yet. A consistent defence is all good but King is pretty much irreplaceable, name me a defender we could sign who could match him?

Typically Woodgate is seemingly in a similar position with a phantom groin injury and won't be back for sometime, which leaves us with Dawson who is returning from injury, he may be back for the midweek cup game. Hopefully Bassong gets over his knock to the head.

Then there is always young Dervitte, but he has looked a bit out of his depth so far. I'd be tempted to play him against Preston, and hope his confidence grows.

Was anyone else bemused at MOTD gushing over Drogba's goal yesterday? It was an ok run but in the end it was jammy as hell, the defender knocked it round his own keeper for Drogba to tap it in

Agreed, I find him far too nervy for my liking that's 3-4 times this season already he's been at fault for goals.

It was his first ever derby game and there's extra pressure but for the first goal he was ****ing about when he should have just hoofed it straight up field.

He watched Tevez chase down keepers all last season so decides to **** about at the worst possible moment.

Rio not being able to find a pass worried me more tbh, can't wait for VdS to come back now.

Anyone see that with Bellamy and the pitch invader?

That was stupid, I can see the FA taking action.

He should and will say he was fearing for his life. If a player can get on the pitch he could have a knife so he hit him first in self defence.

Obviously thats not the bellamy we all think we know but I imagine thats the defence they will use.

TBH its far more embarrassing for that fan, not only will he get banned for running on the pitch but he will have all he mates know he was clocked by bellamy.

I can't believe all the pathetic whinging about the added on time from Hughes, City fans and others. Even when it's been clearly explained that the time was legitimate. Muppets.

How is it embarrassing to be slapped by someone, when you are being firmly held by two stewards? More embarrassing for Bellamy I would have thought, who waited until he knew he couldn't be hit back!

They can't really come out with that though as you can clearly see Bellamy walk a good 10 yards over to him whilst he was being restrained, hence why Rio and Vidic gave the horrible little scrote a mouthful.

Are you kidding me? He'd have been safer to have not walked the 10m over to the fan, who was already restrained and on the floor at the time, rather tha walk over and slap him. If the guy had a knife and somehow was able to overpower the 3 or 4 marshalls holding him down, then he'd be safer further away, rather than antagonising the situation further.

Does that idiot spit at Bellamy?

Edit: Oh yeah, Tottenham are back, Tottenham are back...

No, they showed it on MOTD2 last night, he was a pillock for running on the pitch but he didn't do anything to Bellamy, who took it upon himself to walk over and slap him.

9 month ban isn't it for attacking a fan?
