** Weekend Football Thread ** *spoilers*

First 20 minutes was gash, but it got a bit more exciting after that. We're still going down though.

Newcastle are doing everthing at 100 miles an hour but still can't really string passes together in the final third. Pompy are pretty negative, but are doing what they want to (remain difficult to beat) with relative ease. Pompy defenders are coming under pressure, but Newcastle have only had two shots on target.

It's nice to see the players wanting it for a change! It's a shame it hasn't paid off for them yet but it's certainly promising.

I think out of all the Pompey players, David James has had the most time on the ball!

I also think Cockles' touch has been a bit heavy but it might be down to the wet pitch. It's a shame to see Enrique go off so soon as he was doing well down the left. You could see how gutted he was and for me, that's what counts.

^^^lol.

I think our biggest problem is the lack of a decent play-maker. We've got no creativity in the final third. Just a second ago we had Owen and Martins down by their corner flag trying to pick the ball up. They need to be in the box for crying out loud!

Last 15 minutes have been pathetic. The minute Butt went off we've gone back to our usual 'casual' selves. We're not looking for anything and when we finally do get the ball we give it away again too easily. It's just sickening.

Yer right! Pigs might fly.

Gustov, you wanted a prediction, here it is:

It's going to be the last day of the season and it's going to come down to goal-difference between us and Hull.

The deciding matter in the above is how many goals we ship at Anfield.

That game sucked balls. Newcastle don't have a creative player in the team, nobody who can fly past a man or make a pass other than the most simple one they can find. No good off the ball movement either. They're going down for sure, just can't see any quality there, god knows how I watched that for 70 minutes :(

You honestly think Newcastle will get a win / 3 draws out of the last 4 games. Can't see it happening, today was the best chance.
