Weekend Football Thread **Spoilers**

Really enjoying the game.

Interesting game really, Chelsea have been much better second half, playing really well.
Manchester United, look a little "meh" second half, were better in the first.

I thought it was a foul on Evra, and Ballack was very lucky to escape without a red for an elbow. I also thought Rooney was offside :p football :) nice to have it back.

Andy Gray is a complete tool as well.

Side note, does anyone see this game as a "If United win, Fergie is a great manager, and they're not missing Ronaldo. oooo is Ancelotti the right man for the Chelsea job??"

"If Chelsea win, Ancelotti is a great manager. Fergie hasn't replaced Ronaldo and United miss him."

Quoting my sum up for the game.

Congratulations Chelsea.

Great game to start the season. 4 goals, poor challenges, poor refereeing and hilarious penalties. Only thing missing was a red card although Fergies face at the end of full time made up for that.

MotM - Chris Foy from Merseyside :D

So often the Community Shield is a drab affair, but I really enjoyed that match. Didnt really see too much in the game to help judge either Utd or Chelsea with...Utd didnt seem to be missing Ronaldo and Chelsea seemed to be their usual strong self.

I really do think that this season we wont be talking about the top 4 (although I think they will still be the top 4), I get the distinct feeling that this year we will be talking about how the other teams have closed the gap.

One thing I must say though...what an utterly dreadful penalty by Evra. My 3 year old daughter kicks a ball harder than that.

Awful penalties.
I still dont rate Berbatov, other than being able to take the ball down, he does nothing constructive with it afterwards.
I still dont see the point in the park.

Foster is an awful keeper.

Same as last year then, might as well give up now chelsea and liverpool, here comes 4 on the trot.
