Wolves V Burnley is quite an exciting game. 2-0 Wolves atm. Doyle booked for taking his shirt off in celebration of his goal.
Well the second half has been comfortable. 2-0 is a fair result I reckon.
10 points clear at the top by Christmas.
Panzer
Yup thats the rule, take your shirt off you get booked.
Can't understand why players still do this, would drive me nuts as a manager.
Anybody watch that little Christmas story type thing on SS just then? It was quite nice.
And yup it shouldn't be the rule though. Absolutely ridiculous to get booked for it. What's the problem with that? And it's the same with wanting to celebrate with your fans, no need to be carded for it, it gives the player and fans both something special to remember.
The Adebayor incident deserved a yellow card, purposely riling up the opposition supporters just isn't acceptable, but running to your own fans, or just taking your shirt off and swinging it around harmlessly?
Ridiculous.
on the other hand I think female footballers should be booked if they don't take off their shirt to celebrate
Oh how predictable - we are 1-0 down. If we lose this I will have rage.
They came up with the rule to "clean" up football, as they wanted (they - big wigs at UEFA/FIFA/FA whoever came up with it) because they wanted the game to be "less working class" and removing your shirt and celebrating with fans was seen as a working class thing I think.
It's got nothing to do with offending other cultures, because footballers the world over take of their shirts.
I think it's a bit daft, I do think if you wind up opposing fans you should be booked.
I thought it was to do with players putting messages on their vests and taking off their shirts, apparently that was unacceptable. Could be wrong
