i am very interested in a new Keyboard and want to go down the route of a custom.
But am looking for Fast but nearly silent keys
any recommendations on where to go for one and the switches
thanks
that sounds right up my street.I like these Akko Fairy switches (linear), no 'thock' but more of a soft 'squidge' noise. Haven't tried any other silents like the Penguins (tactile)
That's Glorious for you not happy with the Code either.interesting choice of word
Retrobrite (Hydrogen Peroxide) would probably work. I think it looks pretty great though!I've got a ducky with GMK dots r2 and a Model O Wireless mouse, both in white, and both yellowing to the point where I look like I smoke 40 a day.
I would probably always buy a coloured / black keyboard from now on because it's such an exaggerated yellowing, but has anybody tried bleaching them or anything similar?
That looks like the stuff. I've heard of the chemical for whitening plastics, but didn't know it was branded in such a way for restoring old consoles. That's good to know.Retrobrite (Hydrogen Peroxide) would probably work. I think it looks pretty great though!
Yeah I have some Akko SA keycaps and they are my favorite. They look great and have the best sound profile. In my experience the cheap Chinese SA profile keycap sets that you can buy literally everywhere have been universally excellent. Perfectly moulded, a full complement of full-size ISO and ANSI keys, a really nice almost oily satin feel, and they sound great. If you like SA, try some.
I see a stepped caps, I immediately love it.*Mode SixtyFive in black with walnut accent and brass weight, polycarbonate plate, solder PCB for ISO layout, Mode foam kit, GMK Boho keycaps, Gateron Black Ink V2 switches (lubed).
Love me a stepped cap! also the small ridges on F and J for touch typing.I see a stepped caps, I immediately love it.
Big fan of the v2 black inks too, currently what I'm using in my daily keyboard and I've struggled to find anything that feels/sounds as good as them. I can recommend filming them too just for some added tightness to reduce any stem wobble - although that recommendation is not going to be helpful now that you've finished the build...
Keyboard matches your case perfectly. Well done.*Mode SixtyFive in black with walnut accent and brass weight, polycarbonate plate, solder PCB for ISO layout, Mode foam kit, GMK Boho keycaps, Gateron Black Ink V2 switches (lubed).
