US: Westworld

I was completely engrossed in this all the way through.

I'm sure I've seen the Danish woman in something else but I don't recognise anything in her imdb bio. She's feisty, I have a crush :D
edit: The Duke of Burgundy. Caught it on TV one evening. Very erotic.

Finally 2016 has something worth watching ☺. The first episode was pretty good and from trailers showing glimpses of future episodes it's going to be a big hit. Loved the original movie too and the concept,so really excited about this series and pray they don't mess it up. Also only other thing that got me super excited this year was the return of red dwarf,so far its been pretty ok but nothing worth writing about, but if a fan you will enjoy it as I have been.

Bit of a break from the norm here but I didn't think it was very good. Music was excellent, but the actual episode was a bit of a damp squib for me. I just can't see how this is going to work as a series.

Enjoyed it but can I get a couple of things straight.

Is it like a Groundhog Day scenario where the same day plays over and over but the scriptwriters can change the narrative for that day and any hosts killed are repaired and put back in for the next day all over again, except in the case of Dolores dad, who was malfunctioning so badly, they've put him in storage and replaced him with another host?

Ed Harris' character is the most interesting. Don't know exactly what he's all about atm?

I enjoyed the western story more. Back story is ok..ish Hopefully gets a bit better. At least it has some decent actors in it.

it was so so.

some decent actors in it but wasnt blown away. cant see how the concept can keep running for seasons either.

some shows get better as they go along.hope so.

I enjoyed it.

I am a bit confused as to the "rules" though. How do the guns work and not kill the visitors - the bullets just bounce off
ie when Ed Harris' character got shot by the host played by James Marsden, the bullets just bounced off him - Also we are told the hosts are designed not to harm the visitors yet it looked very much like he was shooting at him!
? Also, how do the visitors know they are not killing a real person (ie another visitor)?

I liked the subtlety with how hosts reacted to the flies, going from ignoring them, to being bothered by them, to killing them.

A hint at Asimovs laws being broken already.

for the bullets I assume it's tied into that grid in the skin we saw when the robot was scalped. I assume the bullets only do damage when in contact with that. I would assume the bullets aren't real and can only damage when it comes into vicinity of that grid preventing harm to humans.

Watched this last night not knowing anything about it.

Seemed OK I guess (different!) so will see how the story goes before I make my mind up fully. . .

Have to say it's made well and good to see some great actors too.

I imagine we might continue to see that particular day play out a few times more. There are several stories playing out simultaneously, so the show might focus on multiple stories at some point. To the people that are saying It wont last long, they've already established that there are 2000 active hosts, and most likely dozens of stories playing out at the same time - any of which they could explore.

I thought the first ep was pretty awesome. I LOVE the way the actors move to imitate how a robot might move, for example when the creator was speaking to one of the older generation hosts at the basement level - that was insanely well done.
