Gigabyte AX370 Gaming 5 Had Good Audio built in: Dual ALC 1220 with Front & Rear 120dB SNR With Creative® Sound Blaster X-Fi MB5 support

Shame the motherboards had hardware defects
I guess it would have been down to the factory/Design of the boards when that was
at fault

Corrupt bios 1 or both happened a lot
Fails to detect the Soundblaster z after turning the pc on the following morning
2 of the SATA ports lost connection with HDDs
changing the Colour of the RGB strip in the Fusion Software would freeze the desktop for few secs & make a horrid sound out of the speakers.

Let's hope Gigabyte sorted it all out on the new Gen of the gaming 5 & 7

My Asus x470 Prime be here tomorrow :)
I like the white Design on the motherboard

Never really saw owners of x370/b350 problems with ryzen :(
Been through a lot of Asus and Gigabyte boards and never an issue . Even dare I say MSI .
Might have to order an ASRock and give it a shot :D

works lines only like 1GB speed

300 Mbit/s internet connection?

The 10 Gb/s is nice if you have more systems and often transfer large files between them.
And must be a cable connection because the routers widely used are 1 Gb/s only.

What you need is all systems to be equipped with this 10 Gb/s capability.
And all systems to have M.2 SSDs capable of read/write speeds of 1.25 GB/s

You can find a VRM list for AM4 motherboards here: https://www.hardwareluxx.de/community/f12/pga-am4-mainboard-vrm-liste-1155146.html
The best VRM for what the board retails for is the ASUS Prime X470 Pro, similar to its old iteration (Prime X370). The X470 Prime has an ASUS branded IR controller, 6 real phases with 40A IR mosfets for the CPU and 2 phases doubled with the same 40A IR mosfets for the SoC. Only change from the Prime X370 VRM wise is the switch from CSD87350 mosfets to IR3553, both are high quality 40A mosfets so that seems inconsequential.
As with X370 boards, stay away from MSI X470 boards, ASUS/ASrock/Gigabyte have much better offerings VRM wise, especially in the high end.

ASUS Prime X470 Pro 6 real phases, Better than the Gigabyte X470 Gaming 7 :)
Makes getting the board for £129.99 an even better deal.

Gaming 7 has doublers, but it's true that at £130 the ASUS Prime X470 is amazing value. Should have lots of OC headroom even if AMD goes full Bulldozer with Zen 2.

One reviewer said the quality ranking with boards for Ryzen is:
1. Asus - best;
2. MSI / Gigabyte - below the best;
3. ASRock - worst

For AM2 and LGA775, ASRock used to make low-quality, cheap, buggy boards.
While they did make better ones for the AM3+, FM2 and FM2+.

Virgin media offers 300mb bb pack

The Asrock Taichi X470 Ultimate has 10Gb lan speed you're getting this confused with internet speed. I have a big file server so if I get the ASrock I would need to get a card for the server with a 10GB port for around £75 and a new 8 port switch with 2 10Gb ports that will cost around £250. The amount of times I copy large files between the 2 machines is not great so the cost of getting the 10GB version does not make financial sense for me.

Many, many years will pass before we see internet providers offer 1 Gb/s internet speeds, and even many, many more years after that, we might see 10 Gb/s internet speeds

That ASRock should have focused on some other, more helpful features in its motherboards

Even though, if you have two identical systems supporting 10 Gb/s, you could directly connect them with a LAN cable.

Look at the mosfets too, usually a combination of higher number of real phases and quality mosfets is what you should go for. International Rectifier/Infineon or Texas Instruments NexFETs are the higher quality mosfets.

X470 Prime Pro is by far the best choice budget wise if you want a high quality VRM, albeit we don't know what the other similarly priced mobos have (but probably not much has changed from X370).
X470-F ROG Strix looks really good too with 6 phases with 60A mosfets, good in between choice if you don't want to stretch for a Taichi, Gaming 7 or CH7.

At around £130 i would have defo gone for the Prime-Pro but most places now selling around £160, which makes me think maybe I should just spend a little more and get the Strix lol.
Thinking now wether I should just go for the CH7 at around 220ish or wait for more boards to get stocked and decide then. Wanted to get the Taichi but cant seem to find any of them in stock yet.
