What are the 30 year old plus gamers playing?

30 year old plus? Bah.... whippersnappers :)

I got sucked into FromSoft games about 18 months ago - have platinumed the Demons Souls remake and Elden Ring on PS5, and replayed Elden Ring countless times since then. Hadn't touched anything else until Diablo 4 launched - finished that, did some grinding to level 71 and got bored. The campaign/story is decent, and the game overall is pretty smooth, but end game grinding is currently lacking. It'll pick up like D2 and D3 did, and draw me in again in the future, but at the moment it's lacking.

I think the From games have spoilt me. I just can't get in to anything else (apart from Diablo for nostalgia reason - I was playing games when D1 launched). I have GoW Ragnarok and the new Horizon, plus a library of Steam games, sitting there unplayed. Getting old seems to change things.

Enjoying Valheim still, 484.4hrs in it now and only just started playing in the Mistlands a little. I get too carried away building.

That's about 3 pence per hour entertainment..

I'm still playing pc games (sort of) at 68 nearly 69, can anyone beat that? I just upgraded to an RX7900xt, (got it about 3 weeks ago and still haven't even installed it yet) in advnace of "Homeworld 3" arriving after all the info regarding release date, and it turns out it ain't gonna pitch till 2024, so I'm a bit p****d about that, though might give COH:3 a go.

For some reason I can't fathom, my PS5 is currently gathering dust as I am exploring my Steam library. A hidden gem in there, Hitman Go, caught my attention and I freakin' love it. Half the games I've got on PC (Steam, GOG, Epic) I didn't even realise I've got. :D

Been playing Dave the Diver on the Ayaneo lately. A fantastic little game!
Just feels fun, and always feels like I'm making a dent in the story even if just played for 30 minutes or so. Definitely recommended!

Playing Icarus co-op with friends, even rented a server so we can all play whenever we want. I noticed my fps jumped from 60-70 to a constant 100 fps after i didnt have to host the game on my pc anymore.

Currently engrossed in Jagged Alliance 3, but Remnant 2 drops imminently and is getting good early reviews. Then of course the juggernaut of Baldurs Gate 3 at the end of the month, that will last me in co-op for basically all of August and then its Starfield and then Cities 2 :D

That looks very intriguing. I saw the developers playing it last week and wanted to try myself. I've never even heard of it before let alone know there were two previous versions!
They were a long time ago, IIRC, Jagged Alliance 2 was something like 1999, so its almost been a quarter of a century :)

Oh it sounds very similar to what happened with Desperados. I went back and tried the first one but didn't like the finicky controls after playing Desperados III. I shall not bother with JA 1+2 in that case. :p

Nearly completed my first playthrough of Prey (2017). I've only done the main missions, so will like to do another playthrough eventually and do the side-missions.

I am also playing Age of Empires 4 and BattleBit.

Finished Atomic Heart a while ago. The platform type parts were a chore. The difficulty level between "easy" and "medium" is quite different. Medium I was dying regularly, easy was a bit of a walk over. The open world bits were a little frustrating as I felt you couldn't just explore because something is always trying a kill you. The game is quite bizarre in places. The USSR propaganda raises a few eyebrows. Theres a comment or two early on which says something like China is amazing and everyone there seems really happy. Seemed almost satirical to me rather than genuine belief. I can see why some folk choose not to play the game. All that aside, I didn't dislike it. Some of the music when doing the dungeon crawl type parts was really good. The boss fights, although quite hard, for me, even on medium were satisfying once defeated.

Still can't quite settle with High on Life. Will try it again once I've finished Death Stranding.

Death Stranding. The walking can be a bit of a ball ache. The deliveries can feel a bit repetitive. The combat is clunky. Everything else is superb. Graphically very pretty, intriguing story. When you're walking and the music starts, it's really nice. Makes the walking actually quite relaxing. The BT encounters early on can genuinely induce anxiety when the game informs you, you are in their territory. As long as you don't mind a relatively slow game, I would highly recommend DS.

Recently been playing some rally sims and Lost Judgment + Horizon Forbidden West on PS5 (way worse than Zero Dawn so far, unfortunately).

Also some SF6 and tomorrow is Tekken 8 time:D

Still spending most of my time on PS5 but will definitely go back to PC when I can find a worthwile GPU that's not a 4090.

Lost Judgement any good?

It looks decent however it's more than I normally pay for a game unless I 100% want it etc

Hard to say with confidence that you'll like it as the series, while highly praised even in the West, is quite niche and quirky. I really like these games personally. Quite unique and great atmosphere.

I feel LJ's story is worse so far than Judgment's but quite a few of other elements are better, particularly the combat is simply great brawler fun with switching four styles on the fly, comboing and plenty of brutal heat actions. Judgment's combat is good as well but slower and less fluid, much harder as well on Hard difficulty.

Maybe wait for a sale and grab the Judgment collection, the first game is worth it for the story alone and there's like 80h of content outside of it if you feel like diving into that.
