What are the 30 year old plus gamers playing?

Hard to say with confidence that you'll like it as the series, while highly praised even in the West, is quite niche and quirky. I really like these games personalty. Quite unique and great atmosphere.

I feel LJ's story is worse so far than Judgment's but quite a few of other elements are better, particularly the combat is simply great brawler fun with switching four styles on the fly, comboing and plenty of brutal heat actions. Judgment's combat is good as well but slower and less fluid, much harder as well on Hard difficulty.

Maybe wait for a sale and grab the Judgment collection, the first game is worth it for the story alone and there's like 80h of content outside of it if you feel like diving into that.
Cheers for the advice

Yes but I don't play multiplayer. F1, F1 manager, Cyberpunk are the last 3 I played. RDR2 is next on the list. I quite like TBS games too.

Recently...

Just finished Diablo 4 story. Meh. Same old mechanics. Limited active skills so you just end up doing the same thing over and over in fights.

Dave the Diver. Yeah quite a nice change of pace.

Children Of Morta. Way more fun than Diablo 4.

Vampire Survivors. It's brill.

Time Waster. VS in space. Loved it.

Rift Breaker. Great Fun. Been through that twice now with the new dlc.

Dead Space Remake. Very good.

Star Wars : Jedi Survivor. Yeah not bad but instantly forgettable.

Spent the last month going back and playing through all the Telltale games that I'd not done after TWD season 2,

New Frontier,
Final Season,
Michonne,
Both the Batman games.

Managed to pick all them up for under £10.

Slower games these days. Used to be a CS and Quake nut back in the day.
These days it's stuff like Skyrim, Tomb Raider, and looking forward to Starfield.

Jedi survivor is about the fastest thing I play these days.

Yeah looking forward to Starfield too. Got the free promo already.

I bought 'The Last of Us' last week after waiting for it to drop in price a bit. I recently enjoyed the Uncharted double game from Naughty Dog so kind of wanted to try this. It has been really enjoyable playing it and because I didn't see or read any reviews it was completely fresh to me. The graphics, story and gameplay are excellent and after upgrading my gpu recently to a 4080 from my 3080; the extra vram particularly helps.

The game does deserve the praise and accolades. Not quite finished it I think but a definite 8.5/10 (or maybe 9/10)

Deep Rock Galactic, TF2, Left 4 dead 2.
Being 30, doesn't mean you are prohibited to play specific type of games. I think the greatest achievement is that you finally buy yourself a decent PC that handles any game.
And you just enjoy your time with random people, who become your team for a round or two.

Nobody said age prohibits anyone from playing any games. Think of it more like people who have gamed for 30 years or so will have slightly different tastes from 18 year olds. Nothing negative. I remember playing Dungeon Master on Amiga, Monkey Island on Amiga, Flashback on Amiga. I even have older memories, very fond memories of many an Atari 2600 games in the late 80s. Then shareware versions of Wolf3d, then walking home from college in 1993, passing by this PC store in my town's high street, that had Doom demo running on loop in their window. I used to stand there for countless hours, watching it play out, it blew my mind! So yeah, nothing will do that to me these days, been there, done it.

I'm not "old", I'm 45. But I've played it all, and anyone my age will probably agree. We don't get as attached to hype as younger generations because yeah, we've kinda been through all the hype hundreds time over and over.

This is a thread for the older gentlemen. You see, I will never play competitive shooters any more. My reflexes are pretty much gone. I can't compete. I'll happily play games where I can outgear content though. And I'm kinda excited for BG3.

What am I playing right now though? Halls of Torment, waiting for BG3.
