What are the 30 year old plus gamers playing?

Would love to see what video games these guys are playing

i bet they would still have better hand eye co-ordination than i do at games like Battlefield :D

my mates dad was in his 70s and used to play games like cities skylines and (back in the day) railroad tycoon.

i know there are a number on the elite dangerous forums who were my age when the original 84' game came out... that would put them well into their 70s now.

Playing a lot of Crusader Kings 2 now that the last DLC is out. It's a cracker; African pagans made interesting, More Fun With Popes and family bloodlines that mark your achievements. And playable Hellenic Pagans, finally!

I turned Sigurdr Ring into the world's most badass duellist and at age 65 he went on a legendary raid into Harun al-Rashid's empire. He fought five duels in a row, the last against a seven foot woman, and won them all.

I bought Scum on Friday night. Now hooked.
I was beginning to come to terms with the fact that maybe I was going off gaming, as I've been 'habit gaming' for the past couple of years, just playing the same game (World of Warships) for no reason at all... So this is a massive relief :D

(turned 36 yesterday)

Should get SOTTR finished off very soon (as about to start the last part, i think :p), and then im gona restart Dead Space again, as its a cracker of a game, and looks bloody great in UW :D

Still enjoying jedi academy 2 with all the mods, rome total war original with expansions, (set to hard obv) also Birth of the Federation (Strategy turn based), the new mods and installer for free are great if you are a trek fan, 2 kids, a wife and my parents, (don't know if it counts as playing, but it normally is entertainment!)(all under same roof!!!) Oh and I got back into Dungeonkeeper 2 , still love the narrator in that, at 1am, it says 'even dungeon keepers need to find that soft shelf at this time.. GO TO BED!!' Can't think of another game that has ever done this! Played the first reboot of tombraider, I've got the next one on steam and doom, haven't had the time to properly sit down and dedicate a good afternoon to get into it yet.. damn that family shizzle!!

Edit: I have loads of games I picked up cheap on steam or even for free with g cards from years back on uplay etc, never even downloaded them lol.. Trust me when I say, once the kids happen, time just dies, or you try and play tired, real bad on racing games..

I keep coming back to this game each year, amazing fun, hoping for a EU4 CK2 mix in the next version!

Feeling my age now... Started playing Transport Fever this weekend and now hooked :D

Getting those Transport Tycoon Vibes <3
I loved transport tycoon back in the day, i will have to check this out. (railroad tycoon 2 was better however. imo)

IME the problem with some of these kinds of games is nowadays they get a bit too complicated for their own good. I still remember trying to build sewer systems in sim city.... 3000 i think it was, it was a pain, not because it was conceptually hard but because i was fighting the display and ropey ui.

I'm really enjoying vampyr now it's been patched up.
Combat and power ups are very similar to the batman games, but it's got a much deeper story and the moral dilemas of whether to feed on NPCs for huge xp boosts or to keep disticts healthy.. Or keep talking and/or healing NPCs to make thier blood quality better before feeding on them for even bigger xp boosts that can be spent on really brutal power ups..

If you enjoyed the batman games at all, and having a passing interest in vampires, you'll definitely like it.

Have they sorted the performance? Outside the hospital I would dip down to the low 40s no matter what settings I chose.

Still playing Destiny 2, recently finished Shadow of the Tomb Raider.

Also dipping in and out of Sunset Overdrive.

Seems fixed.. I couldn't quote frame rates but it runs smooth as I can tell with every thing set to max at 1080 res on my PC (spec in sig).

I didn't ever notice choppy frames but on release it would crash to desktop frequently.so I parked it for a while.

Cheers, will download it when I've finished up Sunset Overdrive.

Yeah I would get choppy frames outside the hospital, stuttering and framedrops in combat.

Agreed to an extent, BF games today for all their polish just don't live up to the actual pure immersive gameplay of the originals.
I wasn't so much in to BF2 as I was a core Desert Combat fan.
For me no BF game has came close. BF Vietnam did have an excellent mod called Point of Existence that was good. 1942 mods Forgotten Hope and Eve of Destruction were also miles ahead of the current BF iterations.
