What are you saving up for?

I've got £24k in the bank, a £1500 car and turned down money from my dad to buy a house so have chosen to live on the streets.

I'm saving to buy myself a cardboard box and a blanket.

That, or a black cab so I can spout racist tripe at people and get a pat on the back from GD.

Strange, I just finished reading thag now closed thread then looked at this one and read this on post 2. Actually started laughing to myself in the kitchen at work :D

I like to think I am saving for a house deposit but it usually gets spent on a new monitor or a last minute holiday or festival. I have some money in the bank but nowhere close to 24k

Currently saving to buy everything needed for a house. The misses is moving Job while I am still at university. So she wants to move out buy a house ect. Also have a little bit of cash for PC upgrades.

I have savings for unforseen things..so a pot that sits in a couple of Isa's that dont overlap

I am actively saving for my 25th wedding anniversary..but we wont dip into the savings 'pot' for it..it will be saved independantly of it

Those box sets can be pretty expensive..

Hmm off the top of my head:
$100k for 2 kids private education
Retirement Funds (yearly investment)
More rental properties / Flip Homes

Small scale:
....hmm not saving for anything here.

Bought our first house recently, stretched ourselves to buy the biggest house we could. Recently redone the garden, and now saving for a shed.

Inside the house we have a small shopping list of 32inch TV for bedroom. 55inch 4K all singing all dancing TV for the living room and a wardrobe for 2nd bedroom. Hopefully have these by the new year.

Frustrating to go down to borderline zero savings on a monthly basis seeing as 6 months ago we had a house deposit, stamp duty, cash for furnishings and the garden..

However after dropping all that I am looking to treat myself to a monitor and gfx upgrade. I will need to spend more nights in on the PC to get the savings back up!

We moved into our second house with £35 left in bank - we skint ourselves to put biggest deposit down we could - you will be surprised how quick you can bounce back on your finances if you take it steady on the spending for a bit.

Now have a 5 month old and will be crippled with £1k per month child care for the next few years.

I know that feeling. My youngest will be going into full time education in January so about £400-£500 better off. :)

Got pretty much everything I need right now so saving towards a new car but not really sure what.

Don't really need to replace my car, it's fine. Just quite fancy a new one. :)

Currently working on becoming debt free, only one debt left what should take about 6 months. Then we want a debt free life (not including a house). Once we are debt free, we shall have a few different savings pots: Deposit for a house, retirement, cars, our children's future and the fun pot.

Says the guy with
i7-6700(non K),
1080 GTX,
16GB DDR4 @ 2400mhz,
600w OCZ PSU,
Asus H170 pro-gaming mobo,
Samsung 3440x1440,
480gb SSD.

:D

Pfft, that old tractor. Should change that to a 6700k and HOF 1080 now! :p

Believe me, that's the only thing of worth I own in life and will very occasionally treat myself on by buying 2nd hand.

The rest of the time I'm hustling for deals or going without like the best of them!

Saving to upgrade my 1 bed flat to a 2 bed semi/terrace. Not going too shabby but still probably a year or so off - hardest bit is seeing the savings as been long-term investment rather than splurging it on something fun like holidays, guitars or PC stuff

I can't save, I have a house and the associated bills to pay for.

This is actually a fear of mine and a reason I stated a house as being financially unviable for me. I wouldn't like to buy a house if it completely disabled my ability to save thereafter.

Depends on how your manage your finances.

I overpay my mortgage by £100 a month. I have done for 5 years, also I put away £600 in savings a month and still have £350 for spending after all bills have been paid off.

I have a good social life and go abroad every few months, I live by myself so I don't have anyone to dictate what I can and cannot spend my money on :)
