Assassin's Fate by Robin Hobb.
Final part of Fitz and the Fool trilogy.
Some good tie ins and references to all the previous books. A few difficult scenes but it wouldn't be an Assassin book without them.
Hope there will be more to come as I quite like thr character that is Bee.

Just finished "The Strange Death of Europe" by Douglas Murray. It gives a very good summary of the European immigration crisis of the last few years and although I don't always agree fully with Murray the main thrust of his argument is backed up by data and basically undeniable.

Definitely a book of our time and hopefully a wake up call that we need a more open debate about importing foreign cultures and exactly what that means for our society.

Physics of the future by michio kaku, some of it is awkward it's only ~6years old but several things feel so ancient like talkingabout getting youer DNA on CD

Does anyone know of anything similar to Don Jollys travel books. Can't stand him on TV, but his travel books are so good.

Just getting to the end of Colleen McCulloughs' Masters of Rome series. I have really enjoyed these.
Its basically the story of how the Roman Republic died.
If you like this era, i can highly recommend this series.

I enjoyed the Abercrombie books the Bloody Nine is a beautifully developed character.

I'm reading the PC Grant/Rivers of London series by Aaronvitch for the second time. Currently on book 3 Whispers Underground. Easy reading and a lot of fun.

Delta Force: A Memoir by the Founder Charlie A Beckwith - I like a good bit of military history and it always amazes me that some of the best, most ingenious ideas seem to hit the same bureaucratic crap in every military in the world. Rogue Warrior by Richard Marcinko is about him creating Seal Team Six and that is filled with exactly the same "we have an urgent need for a specialist unit but the bureaucracy nearly kills it" story as the Delta story is.

Infact, I've read dozens of books on Israeli, South African, Rhodesian and other "western" forces and it seems that in every military there are people who just should never be allowed to wear a uniform based on their god awful decisions. I mean they might be ideal bank managers or accountants but they should never in charge of a fluid ever-changing military situation which needs "not in the manual" thinking to solve.

Game Over by David Sheff. It's a real eye opener how aggressive Nintendo was back in the 80's and 90's and how they set out to crush anyone who wouldn't obey their rule.

Panting like a fiend
Now that Good Omens has started filming, thought i would have a re-read.
I need to listen to the Audio Book/Radio version the BBC did a few years back (it has TP and NG in cameo's), somehow I've not managed to listen past the first CD.

I'm currently reading one of John Ringo's series (Dark Tide Rising), it's silly Zombie fighting, but done in what is often a slightly more realistic manner than many such books, and most importantly it's a fun read with plenty of humour.

i'm 60 pages into Jonathan strange and Mr norrell and for maybe the 2nd or 3rd time in my life i'm going to have to stop reading a book and put it on the shelf unfinished - its so tedious and unpleasant to read i'm amazed it got such good reviews.
i really thought i was going to like but boy is it a slog.

Just finished Ready Player One by Ernest Cline.
Fantastic Sci Fi book pumped full of awesome 80's video game, music and movie nostalgia (and a silly love story). Just watched the trailer to the movie and although it looks good, it would appear that they've made lots of disappointing changes.

I did finish the 13th book in The Wheel of Time the other day and did get the last book delivered today. I'm heading to Prague next weekend and am planning to find a nice little cafe somewhere to sit down and read it. But before I'm heading to Prague I'm going home to Sweden and there I'm planning to try get through The Mountain Shadow by Gregory David Roberts, the sequel to Shantalam.
