What can PS3 do...

I don't know why you'd feel sorry for the 360, it's getting other great multiplayer games aside Halo 3. Even though Halo 3 has excellent multiplayer and apparently it is groundbreaking according to the majority.

Gears Of War 2, Fable 2, Ninja Gaiden 2 and Alan Wake are still set to appear, the 360 is far from its critical point.

Id forgotten all about ninja gaiden 2 and fable 2 :O

Fable 2 looks quite exciting... then again fable was the biggest let down a game has ever created for me i think. I can complete it in 1 hour 40 minutes... the hype was huge!

Howcome? It hasn't been delayed yet or changed engines multiple times.

Plus they've shown off real gameplay at numerous events. :)

I think he means that it seems like its never coming out. We keep hearing about it but its taking ages to be released. Think i heard about it about 2-3 years ago...

Well they haven't ever given a proper release date, games take time to develop and all that.

BioShock was in development since 2004 for example and that made it out in reasonable time, heck they changed engines even.

There's evidence Alan Wake is there and that a working build is around because it has been shown multiple times, unlike Duke Nukem Forever with the 80x80 screenshots. :p

Fact of the matter? Not only have you put down a redundant list where nearly half are inferior ports from the 360, but you've taken a completely one-sided view. Sony would have loved to have the 360's launch lineup and immediately thereafter. 'Oh it doesnt matter if it's on another console' er yes it does, especially if you're trying to convince somebody to buy a PS3 over a 360. Why should someone pay more for a console that has games existing on another format at a cheaper price and in nearly all cases better, smoother and more graphically potent versions of games?

Oh dear.

I quoted from an independant list.
I qouted games scoring over 8 marks from an idependant list.
from the last six months.
Which i said.
It shows that the list of "good" games between the two consoles over the uk life of the console is so far nearly the same.
As for inferior ports, if they were bad, they would be marked as such.

Honestly, people get so angry about such things.

You want to try being me, Ive got all three of the new consoles and a decent PC and so far the only things ive managed to find to play that are in the slightest bit amusing in the last 2 months is Stranglehold on the 360 and Dirt on the PS3.
I wish you could point me in the direction of all these great 360 games, i cant find them anywhere.

If you look at the garbage that was released in the first 6 months of the 360's life its a wonder it managed to keep going at all.

But you must consider that PGR3, GRAW and Oblivion were 3 games in the first 6 months which were unbelievable.

Also, I'm sick of people saying the PS3 is 6 months old, it's not. It's almost a year old.

I can think of three, Forza, PGR and Halo.

Those aren't just releases, those are franchises worth a princely sum.

Dead Rising, Test Drive Unlimited, Gears of War, Bioshock, Crackdown, Saints Row and Condemned all come to mind immediately as major releases on the Xbox360. I'm sure there are others.

Currently the PS3 has Heavenly Sword as a game most Xbox360 users would want on their console at the moment.
As for inferior ports, if they were bad, they would be marked as such.
The problem is, they haven't been. The most ardent of Sony lovers even have to admit this.

As I've said before, the PS3 in it's own right has a great list of games to play, however if you compare it to the Xbox360's list of games, or even games released on both consoles, then PS3 fans will be upset because it currently does have the worst of the 2 big powerful consoles.

The PS3 in it's own right is a phenomenal machine, even comparitively with other consoles it's awesome - but not when it comes to games.

Exactly, I remember seeing screenshots for it when I got my release day 360, not much else seems to have been released since then.

Don't get me wrong I really do hope it arrives and is as fantastic as it sounds\looks but I dunno it just never seems to be arriving...

Sounds to me like Max Payne type third person shooters and Rally games are the only ones you are into?
Otherwise you'd find plenty to play on the Xbox 360.

It's still the PS3 trying to be something it's not. The majority of the game is jittery with very few sections running smoothly. Great graphics and animations and all, but it's pointless if you can't make it run as good as it looks. Bunch of 6/10 reviews goes a long way in showing that pretty graphics don't really mean good game. If you are going to make an argument for PS3, why not do the console service and actually recommend the top games for it, like Warhawk and er.... er.... uhm.... yeah.

JIttery?? Mine is super smooth. Ive had zero slowdown in intense fights as well. Ive played devil may cry (just 1 + 2) on the ps2 and for me the combat in this beats it. It is just so smooth and well done. Fighting is an Art. You want to pull off excellent moves coz it looks SO GOOD lol.

One time i was surrounded and its the enemies who have kind of shelllike armour and usually only power attacks take them down. Anyway im surrounded and im thinking BALLS so i somehow manage to do a superstyle i think because i used the range attack chains and managed to twirl ALL of the enemies round my head using the chains! lol it was unreal.

And the voice acting is just as good as the graphics. Its quite funny at times too.

At the end of the day a review is a review of someones opinion - if you like the genre i would try it for yourself instead of letting someone else decide for you.

AAA title for me :)

Some people are just oblivious to slowdown. Back when I was purely a PC gamer (About 2 years ago) I was playing games at a constant 60-85fps for the most part, when I had a go on some consoles I couldn't believe how many games had slowdown/poor framerates. I would often comment on it and my friends that never play PC games were like "Eh? What slowdown? It's totally fine".

If you're talking about Heavenly Sword, I highly doubt you're the one person in the entire world without slowdown on it :p.

With a game like Heavenly Sword fps is not as critcal as say in racing games or fps. So people care less. Besides its the best looking game out now till Crysis arrives.

Otherwise you'd find plenty to play on the Xbox 360.

Problem with the xbox is that while it gets many games they arent exactly targeted broadly. PlayStation has much more appeal to a more broader audience. Besides PS3 has not had half the time 360 has had on the market so number of games is misleading and doesnt take into account tastes and genres.

I've honestly seen no slow-down yet, but I'm only at the end of Chapter Two.

There's slight tearing but its hardly noticeable.

This is at 720p btw...

Well I have been eating a lot of McDonalds meals then.

Goldeneye blows any FPS on any console/PC/handheld ever.

dedicated servers (void thats only vaild online and fps can be played by any means)
mods (mods mean the original game is inferior)
keyboard and mouse ( user preference)
higher resolution (console FPS are built around single resoltuion so why would you need to go any higher)
higher frame rates (if everybody has the same frame rates on a console the playing field is level)

biggest fanboy reply ever, without any substance.

goldeneye? geez yeh i can remember a time when pong was the best thing since sliced bread too but it's now 2007 and i'm sorry but Goldeneye is irrelevant. if you're still playing it and it really is the best thing ever why are you even in this thread?

anyone who prefers a controller to a kb/mouse for FPS needs therapy.:o

mods enhance a game - one of the great advantages PC games

higher resolution/framerates - who doesn't want better visuals and experience?

i love my 360 but to say it's superior to a high-end PC is hilarious, it's horses for corses. the console is great for some stuff namely sports/racing games but for FPS and RTS anyone who prefers a console either can't afford a decent high end PC or is delusional.

i cant get past Flying Fox. He's just sooo hard

i can fight him to the cutscene where he says now hes gonna have fun or smt and about 12 of him appear. By that stage my health aint strong enough to survive.

i think to do it i need to hit one of the health glyph things with his bolts....which is a tad difficult on siraxis.

I think thats a fanboy comment mate. I prefer FPS's on consoles simply because I can sit back and relax playing them. Rather than sitting upright 2ft away from a glaring screen.

People have preferences and there is no BEST FORMAT to play certain games on, some people just prefer different things.
