What did you do to your bike today?

weekend just passed I lapped valves for a friend was also going to hone the bores but people kept coming round stopping for a chat and drinking tea which I love :D run out of time so will be this weekend.

Was cheaper ordering a full set of rings for gs550 from USA saved £80 sqids even after duty :)

My zzr1100 started making a tapping noise from the top end. Got out my trusty hammer and gave the automatic cam chain tensioner a few sharp taps and now it is back to normal ready to go away to a rally this weekend. :)
Might eventually get round to removing it cleaning it and greasing it up a bit or might just buy a manual one.

My zx6r is doing the same mzal, you have to take the tank off to do yours?

The cam chain tensioner on the zzr1100 is at the left hand side of the engine so it can easily be removed (or hit with a hammer without removing anything) On my zzr600 its in the middle between pot 2 and 3 so it is ment to be a tank, airbox and carbs off job but you can get a small hammer in to tap it!

Booked mine in tomorrow morning for a plugging & I think I'm going to take it to one of the Council MOT centres.
Still got till the 14th I think before the MOT is out so my options are open. S'posed to have a decent days weather tomorrow as well so once done & the pressure is checked after a small run I'll go out for a good raz.

No its not a major dent, but if I was to get the ebay fairings I would want to change to the yellow/black GSXR theme, my favourite :)

Otherwise I would just get the dent repaired and patched.

Start of a very nice little project there mate. Around £250-£300 will get you a full set of fairings from china. Know a few that have them for the R1 and they have come on in leaps and bounds in recent years. If it was mine I'd be looking at the lucky strike or corona colours.

Another £100 or so to get tank dent pulled, filled and sprayed to match.

Ooooooo blank canvas that one.

I'm admitting my ignorance here in the hope it Helps others.

So...
Had a nail in my rear tyre didn't want to pull it out & be stranded in my back yard so I took it to a local place they said it can't be plugged would fail my upcoming MOT, Quote for new rear tyre fitted 155 of my Quids. Gutted. :(

Came back here posted my Gutted & you lot says Hold on Malc we've had plugs & only ones on the edge are dodgey MOT failures go get a 2nd opinion.

Went to R&S Motorcycle Tyres in Leicester this morning, Couple that run the place are real Welcoming & I had a cuppa T in my hand in less than 5 mins.
Chap handled my bike as well as I do if not better through his experience. Whips the rear wheel off to sort it finds the "Nail". Bloody hell mate I should have checked it Before I took the wheel off it's only a Stone. + :o + then mucho :p:p:p
Sticks wheel back on checks pressure job done No cost, I had to give him a drink which I practically had to fight him to get him to accept. :p
I'm like TAKE IT YOU JUST SAVED ME 155 of my Quids. :p

SO anybody wanting a tyre or any tyre work get yourself down to R&S Motorcycle tyres in Leicester. I personally will never use anybody else.

It's mental a I have just saved 155 quid, Next Midland Meet I will supply the Beer Tokens. :D

Roads were well greasy out though which was a bit of a **** off. :(

Got new rubber fitted - Michelin Anakee 3's.
Bizarre tread pattern but very good on the road by all accounts. Won't have a chance to ride until Sunday I think.
