What did you do to your bike today?

Some time ago my father and I dismantled my Honda 250 Superdream, with the intention of rebuilding it. 10 long years later, it's still not been put back together...

Following a move down south, many of the engine parts were "misplaced"... We had to buy the bottom end of a superdream engine just to work out how it all goes back together... Engine on the left is the salvaged engine, engine on the right is mine. Or is it the other way around?

Some shiny engine casing parts waiting to be reunited with the rest of the engine.

How she looked before she was dismantled.

One day I may even get to ride her again!

Another one of our older bikes, the Moto Guzzi Monza V50, given to my father by his grandfather. No brakes, no power, plenty of character! Beautiful sound too.

And here's a couple of our real bikes :D

Yeah my mate bought an RR in January but all in black... personally, not a massive fan of the RR... superbly engineered though obviously... it's that front end that does it for me... don't mind the side fins etc, all looks good... but that "stroke" front end... I'm a symmetry man myself... lol.

Sat on my mates though and you can just feel the engineering/power... nicely put together.

He's gone from a DAS Course passing in JULY 2012 on a Yamaha YBF125, then to a 2011 CBR600F... and now this... for some reason he's always had "litre" syndrome since he passed... hopefully he'll be happy now lol.

Nice other classic bikes though!

Well I'm just about to take my bike to me mate Daves funeral, Should be a fair few bikes there as he ran Motorcycle Restorations. Hopefully all the bikes there will take the edge off the afternoon.

R.I.P. Dave.

Roll on the weekend so I can get painting and fitting!

Yeah, they are just going to be black for this track day until I have more time to strip everything properly to do this colour scheme:

Renewed tax which ran out today. Still waiting for Ducati to come back to W.M. Snells to see what they can do to sort out my gearbox.

Not bike related, but I bought a car today...

BMW 1 Series 130i M Sport, get it on Saturday. A bit much for my first car but it was half the insurance cost compared to my old MX5... Oddly. Got my driving test in 2 weeks. If I fail I'll look like a right pillock lol. But hey, I always do things backwards.

Ooops not good fella... hope all goes well (if you know what I mean!)

Cheers mate, Yep it went well, Good turn out & a good send off. :)

Fireskull - Should have spent the money on a new sofa instead :D

GET OUT !!!

It's Ok mate it's not like you've told anybody or owt. :p

2 new super corsa`s and a free BSB ticket. (then it rains and i will be buggered if i am going to scrubbing these in when its been wet, so can catch up on chores)

(if the weather continues like this its going to be a expensive summer in fuel :) )

First proper test of my textiles, boots, gloves today, 40 minute ride in the ****ing rain to work.

Wet sleeve cuffs from where my gloves aren't quite long enough to tuck under/over my jacket sleeves (gloves under in the rain right?) which is made worse by sleeves that are slightly to short.

A damp arse too, but considering I've been sat in a puddle for nearly an hour I'll forgive my aldi textiles for that.

Also a wet wallet (turns out the front pockets on the trousers AREN'T waterproof!)

Everything else nice and dry, good bless Gore-tex boots and gloves!!

Gore-Tex is the ONLY option for none leather stuff. I love my Alpinestar 365 gore-tex gloves. Never had wet hands, not once, in ALL weathers. Rode for 2 hours straight on the way back from France in the pouring rain and my hands were bone dry.

My RST textiles are the bees knees.

Speaking of gloves, looking for some half decent summer gloves. I have some richa all-rounder gloves at the moment, but they're rather big and thick, not much movement and throttle contact. I'm willing to spend up to £100.

Anything alpinestar or Racer :D personally I loved my 365 gore tex like agnes, didn't get too hot in the summer and were always useful if it did rain.
