What did you do to your bike today?

On my way home from work my bikes exhaust suddenly evolved into something similar to an Akrapovic! Pulled over, had a quick look, and the clamp that comes off the cat into the engine has gone!

Oh well. MOT next week, I'm sure it'll last til then so I can ask them to whack a clamp on for me :p

EDIT: Actually I don't think it was the clamp that's came off.. As there's an actual gap. Wth.
(Apparently the rotting/rusting stock exhaust is pretty common on the ER6)

2006 with 18k - not looked after/cleaned properly by previous owners!

Don't really want to spend too much on the bike now as I'm tempted to get a new bike in August.

Will there be any issues with me riding it as it is like that for a few days? Trying to get MOT brought forward to Thursday so I can get it clamped up then too.

Have fun jarrod now go out and get it all dirty! :)
Little tip for cleaning always remember to have a different cloth for the panels and tank.. and never drop the cloth on the floor :) Nice looking 125
My mate used to take his exhaust pipes off when cleaning his R1 :) Hes a mental case on the roads ...... Now he rides a moped!
PS and I went boxhill yesterday for some food with the mate ...but in a van!

Just spent the last hour or so removing decals and the glue left behind, then putting new ones on.

It wasn't fun :o Got there in the end though.

Got round to wiring up the Garmin 590 today, couldn't believe how much crap I had under the seat! Accessory cables, charge cables, etc. Ripped them all out, shaved off a few lbs no doubt :D

Old 5G ipod works faultless with the Garmin, bluetooth connected to Sena SMH10r. Just need to get a cheapo rubber case and that can be hidden up in the tail.

Am touring Europe in July, 2500 miles. Will be able to report back how good this is after that! :)

Appreciate the compliments :D £2200 cost me all in all with 4k miles, in mint condition as seen on picy :D. Done 60 miles today, had to go college and work in between unfortunately but it is a fantastic bike, does not sound like a 125 at all. Got it up to an indicated 84mph which is.. fast haha on a private track ofc ;)

@Jarrod Real nice bike! :) Fairly decent price too I assume it wasn't from a dealer.

@Wazza, yeah, going to see what the dealer suggest when they MOT it on Friday, if they give me an expensive option then I'll just weld it up!

Thinking about changing up to a GSX-R or ZX-6R in a few months if insurance isn't too painful.. Otherwise it'll be February next year when I have another years NCB!

Found a leaking front fork, when I took the cover off to go riding today :(

Booked in for a suspension service Thursday next week, so I'm grounded until then... and I bet the weather is going to be mint now!

Had a leaking fork seal at the weekend, was going to buy a seal mate as I knew the seal was good as it's only a few months old. Instead I took off the dust cover, wrapped a bit of sellotape around the stanchion, pumped the fork so it went down into the seal to remove any dirt in it, removed the tape and pumped the fork a few times to reseat the seal, no more leak :D

Was leaking a fair bit of oil, running down the fork leg (regular, not USD forks) but was completely dry on the ride to work and back today.

I gave it a full tank of petrol to see how the mpg compares to the CBF125 I had this time last week.

This is my first "big" bike. After toying with the idea of a ~100bhp bike, I decided that between my inexperience and riding it everyday for the Central London commute, a more forgiving bike with a less aggressive riding position was the right choice for me.

This left me with a short list comprising of the Yamaha MT-07, Kawasaki ER-6n/f, Yamaha XJ6, Suzuki SFV and Ducati Monster 696.

Personally I prefer the styling of the MT and ER over the SFV and Monster. The XJ6 is a little overpriced compared to the others (IMO). I then decided on the ER6 over the MT-07 purely because of the price and availability of used bikes. The reduced price in insurance premium was significant because of the lower value of the bike (Zone 2 insurance is crazy!). I still don't know which looks better the ER-6f or ER-6n, but I came across a steal of a 2012 ER-6f, so that was that. Not that any of you asked. I just thought I'd share my thought process for those looking at entry level big bikes.

I'm very happy with it and I'll be starting my days with a large grin on my face from now on... :D

Yea got it from a Honda dealer... haggled a bit with the price :p 105 miles I did today, fairly used to the more leaned over style now. Absolutely love it, bring on being 19, I want me a CBR500RR haha
